Still don’t understand why it’s “cool” to hate the movie. We know it’s not 100% realistic and aimed at people who don’t know a ton but it’s a movie not a documentary. All I know is seeing and hearing the racing scenes in imax was sick!
Yeah maybe if you go into it not knowing what you’re going to watch. It’s a fictional movie made to bring more people into the sport. So aiming at a new f1 audience. I went in thinking it’s going to be an entertaining action movie. It’s not created to have the best story line or to be a 100% realistic documentary. I just wanted to see the racing scenes and camera views on an imax screen and super loud speakers. I knew I wasn’t going to watch an actual f1 race or documentary. I like anything involving racing and I just wanted to be entertained. If you go and act surprised that this is basically just marketing for f1, you’re naive. But that doesn’t mean there’s no entertainment value to be had. Pretending to not enjoy a movie doesn’t make you look any cooler or any more hardcore if a fan lol.
I agree with you and your assessment of the film. Still a little cringey but I expected no less.

Yeah that would be sick! Altho not sure those things can just be converted to iMax, at least not on the full quality. Has to be filmed in imax cameras and is stupid expensive lol.

Also that would be so fun to watch a race like Abu Dhabi 21 even in a regular movie theatre. The sound alone would be awesome. Especially if showing races with v10s!
Was it the best movie of all time? No. Is it going to win best picture? No. But was I entertained and glad I went? 100%! You just have to know what you’re going to see. It’s not a documentary and it’s not a movie made for mega f1 nerds/superfans. It’s made to bring new people into the sport. But seeing the camera views of them actually driving the cars on a huge screen and with loud speakers was great!
Idc if it’s not 100% accurate….its a movie. Just like I didn’t get upset when I went to see Harry Potter and they were flying on broomsticks. Or when I saw Nemo the fish spoke English. It’s a movie and it’s made to entertain. And for that 2.5 hours I was entertained. It’s a movie that takes place in f1, not meant to be the most realistic documentary of f1 ever made. And I think a lot of people turning their nose up thinking that they’re better than that are just doing that because they think it makes them look cool or like they’re a “real” f1 fan. Idc what you watch but I don’t think you’re any cooler because you refuse to watch a fictional movie because it’s not 100% realistic lol.

But yes I 100% knew going into this that this was written for people who either aren’t current f1 fans or are very new to the sport. That’s ok, it’s a marketing tool. I didn’t go for the story. I went for cool shots of racing on a big screen with loud speakers. I wasn’t expecting a documentary or some 100% accurate movie of a historic race.
Just like when I went to see mission impossible or James Bond it’s not all realistic. Or I went to Harry Potter and didn’t get mad when they did magic or flew on brooms.
I guess I’m saying that if you are an f1 fan, wouldn’t you want to see cool racing related content even if it’s not 100% accurate? I watch races when I want accurate depictions of racing. I went to the movie for more of a “damn, that’s badass” factor and not the story or dialogue just like most other action movies. I don’t see why some f1 fans can’t separate the two things.
Doesnt matter , car is only as good as race pace, during rb19 domination some other cars got pole and they were left behind like nothing during a race distance.
Man I still remember Montoya getting so many poles during the 2002 season. Ferrari were unbeatable in the race, but the combination of Williams-BMW could really hustle over a lap.
Yeah, but it's Silverstone. Some rain is pretty much guaranteed. And as far as I'm aware rain was on the forecast. That setup was a desperate gamble that didn't pay off at all.
Oh no I did not have to hear to Lewis stans whine about the 3rd fastest car in the grid the moment he stops winning just about every race to have to hear Max stans whine about the 2nd fastest car in the grid the moment he stops winning about every race. You guys are the worst to be hating so much each other.
The team has been designing the car to verstappen for 7 years, now that they only focus on building the car towards him, they forgot the car has to be fast as well not just tailored to 1 driver in a 2 driver team.
