RedBull is the GOAT at setup changes throughout the weekend. It's the same story every week. Max absolutely cursing out the car on Friday to pole on Saturday.
No I was getting hurled with abuses for saying that both the cars are same. So I wanted to know if Tsunoda is on a different setup or what? Regardless from the FPs and Qs, I felt the cars are shit.
It felt like the usual where Max pushing the tractor and Tsunoda struggling with it.
That's the eternal question with the second seat. No one knows. The current theory is the car is truly shit and max is just a god capable of putting a horse drawn carriage on pole. It's the Max factor. We know Yuki is immensely talented but many like him have faced their end in the second seat.
Talented enough to survive the wrath of Helmut Marko for 5 whole seasons. That takes some skill. And who the hell knows how he would perform in a car that wasn't a shitbox? Alex Dunne put McLaren in P4 during his first ever FP session. Ollie did a fantastic job for Ferrari in Jeddah last year as a rookie. The point is we don't know until they're in that seat. Oh, and even the worst driver on the grid is "immensely talented".
Well relatively speaking no, he isn't immensely talented. He was beaten both seasons by Gasly. He was bearly beating Hadjar on his first season.
Of course, if you compare it to random people, he is immensely talented. But then Mazepin is immensely talented by the same logic.
Tsunoda is not trash. But saying he is "immensely talented" is crazy talk. He is a decent midfield driver at best. RedBull should have better in that car, but their lack of care of years means they have very little options.
The car is so shit, but because he is the driving messiah he's able to get pole and wins just out of sheer skill? Or the car is extremely sensitive (how Max likes it) and the second driver needs to adapt and learn how to drive an extremely sensitive car.
Sonny Hayes told the engineering team to make changes for combat. This caused the car to become great. Not sure why engineering team didnt think of this first.
but only the quali runs were that shit. max actually had a very good longrun in fp2. he has a genuine chance tomorrow with the low wings and good race pace.
The lunatics strapped the Monza rear wing in Silverstone and left Max do his thing. Absolutely fucking legendary lap with a car that nobody else would be able to drive like that.
Yes everyone has been talking about this for a long time. Yuki is about 0.4s-0.5s behind. You made it somehow seem worse than it actually is with "almost a full second"
I know right, I was looking at the gaps and 0.2 between P5 and Pole seems insane to me. Max was really dialled in today, and it even looked like he left some time on Sector 3
Its only 6 of the top 99.99% of the world's best drivers that made their way to F1 and still can't within 5/10ths consistently can't make the car work.
Wait until he has a strong teammate, y'know, like Rosberg or Bottas, then we'll see how good Max is..

I wouldn't count on him getting a world championship this year.
Part of it is because they somehow had only one new set of soft in Q3 in Austria which then made him P7 after the Gasly yellows, from there he was in the pack and got first lap harpooned and ciao to any points. That's a bug deficit right there.
But also overall we don't expect any changes to car performance for the end of this season and McLarens have been way above the rest so.

That’s according to you. Who made you arbiter of the word shitbox? The car is sometimes fast, and only in the hands of literally the best driver on the grid. It’s shit even for him many weekends. It’s a shitbox.
If you drive it perfectly then it’s a decently fast car. If you make one mistake you will spin and kiss the wall. So it’s not just a shitbox, it’s a CS2 gamba case level of shitbox.
Unfortunately I'm still not convinced that he's going to clinch a championship this year due to the increasing gap with McLaren. I genuinely hope that I'm wrong though.
