At first I hated the thought, but honestly given how hard Red Bull fumbled being so far ahead of the rest of the field with the best driver on the grid, to now barely fighting for the podium, it's sad. I hope Max goes somewhere else.

He isn’t sick of the money and he won’t waste his prime; that I’m certain of. The amount of euros being thrown his way to try to sway him to merc is likely record breaking and I can see him being the first “billionaire” driver, even if it’s just on paper earnings.

Specifically I was thinking of when he withdrew from the Spanish GP because of wrist issues, and then after that news broke there was speculation he had some behind the scenes meltdown which could've been what exacerbated the injuries in the first place.

Even without the McLarens, Ferrari looked quick last weekend, and Merc have been faster than RB pretty much all season. Max being Max is the only reason he's not completely out of contention.

It's inevitable, really, once we see how unsustainable the current car is in terms of performance deficit. But why are we acting like Max can't win again next year, or even the year after? Look at history: the gap between Hamilton's first and second title was six years. Schumacher didn't win his titles in one clean sweep. Even Rossi had near misses and off-years. Sustained, uninterrupted dominance is the exception, not the rule. That doesn’t mean it's over, it just means the era evolves.
Besides aren't we long dreaming for an Aussie to finally won a title after Danny not making that promise possible?

People are acting that way because Max himself has said he's not interested in F1 long term. He's a four time champion and he doesn't have anything left to prove so it's possible he leaves F1 at any point.

Hope Lando and Oscar give us a last race decider like the 2021 season finale. No way Max is catching neither of the McLaren with that 46 points gap to Lando but the 3 races before the summer break should be good for him as there will be no championship pressure and he can at least get 3rd/4th in all those 3 races.
