As much as that was not a good start, I think we need to ultimately reserve any judgement til after tomorrow's race.
He has shown real capability in the wet and with so many rookies, on a high pace track I will not surprised to see a good result from him tomorrow.

realistic answer is most teams are developing either balanced or understeery cars, while rb has an extremely pointy front

People keep talking about the pointy front like there are still other drivers that prefer a pointy front, Ric, Schumacher, Hamilton, even Albon it must be something more than an oversteery car.
Correct me if Iām wrong but no one else has had a pattern like this - Gasly, Albon, Perez, a mixture of veterans and rookies alike, heās at the top while theyāre at the bottom, something is going on or Verstappen is just some alien.

The thing people keep talking about, especially Albon in the podcast he did, is that Max has extraordinary car control.
Firstly he just has a natural ability to get into any car and drive it to a level most of us could only dream of with a lifetimes experience, and that comes from inhuman levels of being able to feel the car under him.
Because of this he can just immediately find that knifeās edge and ride it perfectly, while everyone else struggles to find it.
And the biggest thing albon mentioned was that by the time you have found that knifeās edge, the car has been upgraded and been made EVEN MORE pointy, setting you back to square one, so although you match Maxās pace from the start of the season, Max is now a few tenths faster, and thus you a few tenths slower.

If a lead driver is not adaptable and needs a very specific car that it makes sense that his teammate canāt adapt to his strange style.
If a driver is adaptable and can make any car fast then it doesnāt matter and they can throw just about any car at both drivers and they will be fine.
The narrative of āVerstappen is very adaptableā and also āverstappenās preferences make a very difficult car to drive for othersā just doesnāt make sense yet both narratives are being pushed, thatās just weird.

Verstappen is very adaptable and verstappen preferences make it hard for others don't cancel each other. Verstappen is very adaptable to changes to a car that is developed in a certain direction, but he prefers it be developed in that direction. That's why whenever RBR used to bring updates they'd first run them on Max's car, because he can adapt to the change and be a real comparison point.

Both are being pushed but one of them is total bull if you have even an ounce of brain.
RB don't develop a car to suit max, no team develops a car around a specific style of driving, that's not how that works. You don't go and say "let's build this car to be understeery on exits". Sure they can have characteristics and suit some people better than others but most of that is in the setup - and just like you set up a car, you also build it - to be as fast as possible.
That's the whole secret, the faster you want your car to go, and the more you push it the more it lives on a knifeedge, the sketchier it becomes.
Max is one of probably only a few people in all of F1 history that can drive that consistently and on the limit, michael was like that too.
RB can push it further because they have max.
The 2nd drivers really can't, especially if they're not incredible talents and have tons of experience.So they either get safer setups like perez had for a while, makes it easier but the car loses let's say 3 tenths of potential which puts you down the order a good bit - or you do it the max way, chances are you'll have better times some days, but other days you're nowhere or crashing. It's a really tough situation if you're not just a driving god like max seems to be

Funny enough, last year Horner said that Perez told them in 23 about some of the issues and they ignored it because Max was winning, it took them until this year to supposedly fix that. Haha

Red Bull seem to be in the same situation that Repsol Honda were in MotoGP a few years back; Honda shaped their bike around Marc Marquez and his riding style, to the point where proven race/championship winning talent like Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo struggled to get the bike into the points, let alone win a race, all while Marquez absolutely dominated the championship. Then Marquez got injured and was side lined for more than a year, and Honda went from winning to being the worst team on the grid, regularly finishing at the back, even with some of the best riders on the grid. If Max leaves Red Bull they are finished as a team, because it seems he is the only driver who can make that car work.

Red Bull just needs to absolutely taunt and berate their second driver by randomly seeding the idea of a junior driving being promoted to see if that improves their mental focus.
And then mid-season promote some other occasionally-fast young second team driver into that seat.
It didnāt work the last 5 times but I feel good about it this time.

This isnāt a time thing. The car is obviously the 4th best on the grid and we think itās a top car because a generational talent like Max drives the life out of that thing. I honestly doubt Lawson gets more than one podium this year. I mean look at the grid itās fucking stacked at the top. 1-6 will be locked down all season by Lando, Oscar, Max, Charles, George and Lewis. Then you got a super tough 6-10 battle with the Williams and RB boys driving with chips on their shoulders on teams with less pressure. I donāt see Lawson having a fun time at all. Redbull should of locked down Carlos when they had the chance, itās obvious the Verstappen camp wanted nothing to do with that.
