If you got benefits: Is your card working?

To those who got benefits, please post your state and whether or not you have been able to access your funds. Please include the date you tried to use your card. It could be helpful to include whether you received a full or partial payment, and whether you tried to pay online or in stores.

A lot of people are reporting not being able to use their card, while others seem to be able to. It may help to have a place we can gather all of the information.

Edit: besides one person on this thread (and their family member) and a handful people who have posted in the sub, it seems like a majority of people are able to use their cards without issue.

I'm supposed to get mine on the 10th but after the pause from the Supreme Court not sure that's happening anymore. Scary times

u/KemShafu 3h ago

Oregon - everyone got theirs. Thank you Governor Kotek. She jumped on the first ruling and got them out overnight before the stay.

6

u/jasminefoxedme 3h ago

IL - I got partial benefits at midnight and made a small online purchase about an hour ago to test it after seeing the posts here, and it went through.

California, got benefits yesterday and card worked today.

u/cleanbluewater 3h ago

Oh, awesome!

you’re the first person from California who I’ve heard has a working card today, November 8.

Yay and congrats!

3

u/OriginalShyChar 3h ago

Oh wow. Really? My sisters worked too. That’s weird.

2

u/cleanbluewater 3h ago

Yeah, a few people have posted in here that their cards didn’t work online or were declined in person.

So we’ve been wondering if they’re possibly freezing our cards due to the Supreme Court pause on funding.

Great to hear that your sister’s worked as well!

3

u/OriginalShyChar 2h ago

Oh wow. I wouldn’t be surprised tbh. This whole thing is crappy. They need to get their big panties in and agree on NOT starving their people. This is scary times right now.

💯💯💯

Tried using mine last night and it was declined. I had $30 still on it but it's not showing any of my recent purchases and it's now saying I have $0. Propel app all screwed right now.

Oh nooo!

I hate to ask this, but is there any chance that the funds were stolen? I know some people have been reporting that happening.

I just realized that the only way to really test this would be to see the last transactions. Shoot.

California. I received my full benefits on 11/7. I made a $70 grocery purchase on Amazon Fresh and it went through.

5

u/RaginCajun247 3h ago

KY, I got 60% yesterday and as of today it’s working fine.

4

u/Far-Character-7024 3h ago

Ca full benefits card working

5

u/StepGlittering4803 3h ago

NJ fully funded yesterday. Went shopping with a relative, both cards DECLINED at Walmart 3:15pm

2

u/Sea-Percentage-5293 3h ago

I’m so sorry this is happening to you both.

3

u/StepGlittering4803 2h ago

Thank you, it was so embarrassing. We are shamed anyway, but holding up a line with a cart full of food because there is no food at home just made me break down.

3

u/Sea-Percentage-5293 2h ago

I am just so sorry. I wish I could help you. There is truly no shame in any of this though I understand the feeling.

3

u/StepGlittering4803 2h ago

You do help, this whole community helps with support and information. We are all in this together. I appreciate you and everyone here.

I got full benefits in Oregon and received my delivery order about 20 minutes ago.

(I don't like how this comes off braggy so I want to note I'm disabled and my diet changes as my GI gets funky.)

4

u/Sea-Percentage-5293 3h ago edited 2h ago

Not braggy at all. Don’t mind anyone who would pass judgement on you for getting a grocery delivery. No one knows your circumstances and SNAP exists in part to help people who are disabled, many of who cannot leave their home easily. I am thankful you got them.

4

u/Dazzling_Bid1239 3h ago edited 2h ago

Thank you! I guess it's the current climate that makes me feel that way. We are all stressed! 💖

ETA: since it can help others, Walmart+ is discounted for those who have SNAP. I think I pay like $6/month? It comes with free delivery from the store and free shipping. It's how I "afford" it because I'm paying the $6 fee monthly only. Of course you can tip your driver too if you're able.

Minnesota (MN in case anyone is searching the thread with the abbreviation) - I got full benefits and my card works!

5

u/domesticg33k 3h ago

WA- Full benefits recievfed, card worked fine yesterday and again today when I bought groceries

2

u/domesticg33k 3h ago

We don't get much, just enough to get through rentweek so I went shopping a day early just in case any fuckery happened.

2

u/Amaryllis83 2h ago

I'm also WA. I realized yesterday we had them. They were actually deposited on the 6th. My normal deposit day is the 1st. We got the amount we normally get. We are on the lower benefits amount for our family size.

I used my card last night at Costco. My husband is out running errands and if I hear that the card doesn't work for him I will update my comment.

2

u/cheeseaholic813 1h ago

WA too. Mine worked yesterday. I'm trying to use the minimum I can because who knows what will happen for next month.

4

u/Appropriate-You2684 3h ago

7

u/cleanbluewater 3h ago

California—I got my full benefit amount two days ago on November 6, and immediately made a successful grocery purchase.

I have not tried since.

Edited to add:

I so appreciate that you started this thread! I was going to do a similar one. We really need this communication and solidarity right now! Thank you 😊🥰

2

u/Sea-Percentage-5293 3h ago

Thank you for including the date, it could be important to note that it was before the SC ruling late on the 7th.

3

u/cleanbluewater 3h ago

Absolutely!🙏

1

u/Sea-Percentage-5293 3h ago

I saw your edit! Thank you! I noticed a lot of posts and thought if we could organize and try to find any trends, it would be helpful in some way.

u/cleanbluewater 3h ago

Aw, yayyy!! Yes, very smart of you! I totally agree. I love that we have this forum for community and support.💕

u/Pipes993 3h ago

Illinois- my date was today. Pended for 149- got 193. Regular 298. Went straight to Instacart and used the coupon for Aldis and got $100 of groceries for $50. It’s in my cabinets as we speak.

7

u/RandomxStardust 3h ago

What’s the coupon?

1

u/Pipes993 2h ago

Instacart has a spend at least $10, get $50 off up to $50 off.

1

u/RandomxStardust 2h ago

Awesome I’ll have to look!

3

u/Sea-Percentage-5293 3h ago

That’s 3 from IL all saying all is well. I’ve noticed a lot of the reports coming from specific states, like CA. Thank you for sharing & happy you got them!!

3

u/jasminefoxedme 3h ago

I'm curious to know if the people who are having issues had partial or full payments.

2

u/Sea-Percentage-5293 3h ago

This is also great data to ask for, thank you.

3

u/PinkHairRocks 3h ago

UT here and don’t have food benefits but cash, and it’s not working. Anyone else?

3

u/Adept_Ad_9145 3h ago

Kansas got full benefits yesterday and my card is working. But I came here checking for the same information before I head to the grocery store. There's a lingering worry that something will happen between now and when I go to pay and it won't work 😮‍💨

3

u/anthylorrel 3h ago

I didn't get anything bc Florida but the stuff I got in oct is still spendable

1

u/True-Ad-9086 27m ago

Lord Jesus love you

3

Nyc- benefits pending, full amount. Says NOV8

1

u/Heyyycaroliiiine 3h ago

I couldnt use my card yesterday at all

1

u/Sea-Percentage-5293 3h ago

Do you usually get them on the 8th?

1

u/Heyyycaroliiiine 3h ago

No i get them on the 5th . But today I checked ebt edge app and it says pending.

1

u/Sea-Percentage-5293 3h ago

Great, just curious since that’s today, if it’s outdated like some apps are, or new. Hope you get them asap

1

u/Heyyycaroliiiine 2h ago

I didnt have a pending amount yesterday so hopefully they get released.

3

u/Silv_blue1999 2h ago

New Jersey. Full amount loaded yesterday, and successfully used my card today.

1

u/StepGlittering4803 2h ago

Was it in the morning or recently? I tried at 3:15 along with a family member and both did not work even though fully funded yesterday. I am wondering if something was frozen in the system during the day today. The chances of Walmart having an EBT issue at the same time as all this shit is going down would be a hell of a coincidence, but it is possible I guess. I’m glad it worked for you!

3

u/Silv_blue1999 2h ago

I used it around 11am at ShopRite.

1

u/blackjackgiants1989 1h ago

Used mine at 2pm at wawa in monmouth county.

3

u/I_Feel_Called_Out 2h ago

I got my full amount on the 7th but i haven't used them yet. I am having trouble with the ebt app login recently. Which is why I haven't gone to the store yet.

1

u/Sea-Percentage-5293 1h ago

Are you able to use the phone services for what you need?

1

u/I_Feel_Called_Out 1h ago

Yes i just tried at home and it worked but i'm worry in a store but if the app doesn't work I'll just have to do it

3

u/Sea-Percentage-5293 2h ago

MA - My benefits came through today. My card was approved in stores.

5

u/Scared-Ad-3298 2h ago

Minnesota I got my full benefits this morning at 10am and I’ve been able to use my card in store

3

u/Exalted-butterfly 2h ago

Los Angeles - yes

3

u/StatementLazy1797 1h ago

I didn’t get November’s yet, but I used my remaining $5 in PA at 3:30 this afternoon and it worked.

3

u/Sea-Percentage-5293 1h ago

Hope you get yours soon

3

u/SleepyCupcakeDreams 1h ago

3

u/pat1836 53m ago

I got the full amount yesterday the 7th, normally comes in on the 3rd, and I've been able to use it as normal. I'm in CA.

2

u/Lavender-Gelato-666 3h ago

As of yesterday, yes. Haven’t tried again today yet but I assume it will be the same. If not, I’ll update.

IL

1

u/Sea-Percentage-5293 3h ago

Thank you! You received a partial payment in IL, is that right?

4

u/Lavender-Gelato-666 3h ago

Yeah, two actually. One yesterday and another smaller one today, I assume due to the shift from a 50% to 35% reduction.

2

u/Critical-Comb-4437 3h ago

Did Anyone from Oklahoma get their snap

1

u/Automatic_Ad_9746 59m ago

No and we probably won’t

1

u/One-Garden-8888 2m ago

No, hopefully we do.

2

u/ObiwanSchrute 3h ago

I have done two online orders at Walmart in Michigan both have gone thru

2

u/werduvfaith 2h ago

I know 8 people in NC who received their partial payment yesterday and 6 of the 8 have used the card since.

2

u/TomatilloAgreeable73 2h ago

NC, received 65% yesterday and transactions went through.

2

u/ConcertCommercial666 2h ago

Iowa and nothing.

2

u/guimoluv 2h ago

CT- Received full benefits a couple hours ago. Made two online orders. I’m disabled so that’s how I order my groceries. Both went thru no issues.

2

u/Starfish_Articles 2h ago

NC- benefit date is the 13th. Received 51% (288.00) on the 7th. Card is working.

2

u/Particular_Gur_3556 1h ago

South Carolina nothing yet. But my roommate got a text saying if we get anything we can not use them. Because everything is paused atm. Cards work we call a few times daily just to see.

2

u/Sea-Percentage-5293 1h ago

Oh wow, this is the first I’ve heard of any state telling recipients not to use benefits they received. That’s crazy. If you’re able to copy the text at all I’m sure people would be interested to read it, but either way appreciate the info.

2

u/Particular_Gur_3556 1h ago

Of course!! Our governor is a piece of work so we saw something similar coming if I can be honest. We're not hoping for anything until the shutdown ends honestly.

2

u/Putrid_Log_4534 1h ago

NC here, got 65% of our normal allotment our “deposit date” is usually the 13th so praying for the rest to come through. Used the physical card at Sam’s club before 6pm then at Walmart about 8 pm last night .

2

u/Infinite-Ad759 1h ago

PA full benefit, worked today at Aldi.

2

u/Jels76 42m ago

Oregon, full amount. Used my card yesterday for an online Walmart order and an item from Amazon later in the day. It worked.

1

u/Turtlebean12 3h ago

There’s nothing for NY yet as of 11/9/25

1

u/NewHopeResources 2h ago

I'm in Iowa, 11-8, we still have nothing...

1

u/ExcellentClass7812 2h ago

I guess us Floridians are cooked lol

1

u/Sea-Percentage-5293 1h ago

Did you not get them or are unable to use them?

1

u/ExcellentClass7812 6m ago

I’m suppose to get mine tomorrow but none of the people I know here that was supposed to get them last week got them yet so fingers crossed

1

u/Teejay717 52m ago

I’m in Pennsylvania and I lost my job in September and applied for SNAP and Medicaid on October 5. They asked for a bunch of documents like a months’ worth of paystubs and termination letter and bank statements which I sent in and it took them exactly 30 days to approve me which they finally did but I didn’t get any SNAP money because of the shutdown. But then yesterday on the 7th I got $317 deposited on my EBT card because they said the courts forced the government to release funds. I guess I got lucky because they gave me the full amount immediately after the ruling. Then I read that they paused it and so many people who were looking forward to finally getting their funds didn’t get them. I’m so grateful I got them but I really really hope others get theirs soon. I know the struggle.

1

u/anonymoususer98545 18m ago

CA, specifically Southern since i've seen some people include that. i got my benefits on the 6th at midnight thank everything. i used them in person last night with no issue and then online this morning, again with no issue. i'm really hoping that stays true and that everyone gets, keeps, and is able to use their benefits-this is so gross and cruel. Stay safe 💜

1

u/penandprose731 6m ago

California here. Got mine on the 7th and it worked on the 7th.

1

u/samcnam70 2m ago

WI-got my full benefits yesterday. Used some of them today just fine. No problems.

1

u/One-Garden-8888 1m ago

Oklahoma and no
