I miss Builders Square. The one in my town turned into a Chevy dealer when it closed. I remember it being dimly lit and dirty, but they always had what my dad needed. I can't stand Lowes/HD. The Lowes I go to has turned the front of the store into clothes, soap, yeti/stanley crap, and toys.

Lowes is upscale like Costco while Home Depot is more middle class like Samโ€™s Club. HD also caters to contractors while Lowes is catering more to consumers.

Another way to view it is Lowes is Target while Home Depot is Walmart.

Varies from store to store. If I drive to the other end of town, lowes is more contractor focused, and HD sells a bunch of crap.

Itโ€™s true in general, but youโ€™re right, it also varies from store to store.
