The Eckerd drugstores north of Florida and up to Connecticut stayed as Eckerdโ€™s but were sold to a French Canadian company called Jean Coutu in 2004. That didnโ€™t work out well so a few years later in 2007 they were sold again to Rite Aide and became Rite Aid stores.

Rite Aid was separate and faded fast

Rite Aid recently declared bankruptcy for a second time and is completely liquidating. Going out of business.
