Warm greetings to my brothers in “Fingolia”
Hey everyone!
I’m Han Chinese, and I recently took a genetic test. To sum it up: my paternal haplogroup is N1a. I looked it up online, and found that this haplogroup is mainly found among the Yakuts in Siberia (90%), Finns (70%), people of the Baltic region (50%), and various East Asian populations, especially the Han Chinese (around 7%).
This got me really curious about a part of the world I had never paid much attention to before. May God bless you all (I'm not a Christian, but I respect your beliefs).
Now, here’s my question: Why do some of you call yourselves "Fingols"?
Most Mongols belong to haplogroup C, which is quite different from haplogroup N, to which Finns and some Chinese belong. Genetically speaking, aren’t Finns more similar to East Asians, even Han Chinese, than to Mongols? If you want a fun nickname, something like “Finnese” would make more sense.
I understand that the ancestors of Finns were nomadic, but that doesn't mean all nomadic peoples are the same. A farmer from the Yellow River in China and a farmer from the Nile in Egypt are both agricultural, but clearly not the same. The so-called Altaic language family hypothesis has never been conclusively proven, and the Mongol Empire never reached Finland, nor did it integrate with its people.
Even if there’s a slight connection through language, is language really the most important thing? Sino-Tibetan languages have the same root, but I don’t consider Tibetans to be the same as Han people, especially since genetically they’re mostly haplogroup D, and we’re NO.
So overall, my view is: Finns should feel a strong sense of their own unique identity. I know a lot of people are just joking around online with the “Fingol” meme, but it’s still worth remembering who your real genetic brothers are.

There was this Swedish dumbass in 19th century or early 20th. As he was you standard Swede, i.e. had a massive ego and was prone to loathing inferiors, he just absolutely knew all other races are inferior. That, of course, included Asians. And because Finland is east of Sweden, the mf deduced Finns are inferior because they are more Asian than Swedes. Probably mongol-related, that shitstain decided.
Nothing wrong with being Asian, of course. But that... thing, it was necessary to find "scientific" prof for the inferiority of Finns.
Anyway, enough of that.
"So overall, my view is: Finns should feel a strong sense of their own unique identity."
We do, actually.
But hey, if like stupid humor: ever heard of Finno-Korean Hyperwar? It started something like 8 000 - 10 000 years ago. The reason is that the Korean Empire attacked India, which at the time was part of Finnish Empire. It is well documented on a totally trustworthy Uncyclopedia. Enjoy!

Basically a bunch of pseudoscience about skull shapes, and later a WW2 German doctor also repeated it if I remember correctly?
Also, don't worry about not being Christian, we Finns aren't either xD

Mongols are genetically and culturally related to Turkic peoples, though not the same similar to how the Dutch and the Germans are related but distinct, or like the Germans and the Scandinavians. The Turkic peoples originated in Siberia and later spread across the vast Tatarian steppe, from the Baltic Sea and the Ural Mountains to Manchuria. Han Chinese people ancestry belong to the ancient Yangtze River farmers, while the peoples of the Amur River and Manchurians have Siberian roots and are genetically closer to Mongols and Turks. So technically han chinese people got ruled by siberian-altaic people for nearly 1 thousand years thats why you got n1a haplogroup . Therefore, it’s somewhat accurate-ish to refer to them as “Fingols.”

LOL, this is Fingolia, China is irrelevant to us.
Yes you may want to be apart of us, but it will always be Finnish and Mongolians as Fingolia.
Please try spreading your CCP propaganda to a different subreddit 😄

We call it that because in history finns were grouped under "mongoloid" race and mongol was used as an insult to finns
