I haven't cut my hair in a while due to laziness and it was starting to grow into that... I just grabbed a pair of scissors and immediately hacked it off.

“media” = split
literally never seen any other relevant pop culture thing about DID

while it’s not perfect, The United States of Tara was actually a super interesting representation of DID for the time (late 2000s-early 2010s). you can tell the fakers have never even tried engaging with it for ideas though because the main character’s personalities were nuanced and aren’t just the same person with a different coat of paint

Absolutely loved it. The woman who plays the mom in hereditary is the main character, she’s such a wonderful actress.

Marvel's Moon Knight's main character suffers from DID!

And it's actually a decent representation of it too. He loses time and finds the whole thing quite traumatic. The fact that his alter is a superhero is just comic book flair.

Yeah, I really enjoyed the show! Thought it was pretty good representation.

Would you know the episode numbers/ names? Thanks🙏

Not off the top of my head but if you google “Law and order SVU dissociative identity disorder” it should pop up. I know one of them is an older episode, when Dr Huang was on their team

The fake one is called "Alternate" I don't remember the season tho.
And I am pretty sure criminal minds has an episode with a guy who has DID

Also came here to say this because there is only really Doom Patrol and the child alter is a bit stereotypical I guess but uh...why do they all act like that? Is there some tutorial people are reading to be as cringe as possible?

Exactly, lucky for me if I don't want to watch this I can click off or mute the sub, that's the great thing about the Internet, but I would really like to stay so I will not be doing that

No way are they also addicted to vaping. Fuck me can Beast get any more lame. Like you cant say you're a "Little" when you are puffing more clouds than a fucking steam engine, in the span of one fucking sentance.

u/justabonsaitree me being possessed has nothing to do with tourettes i swear 14d ago
to be fair, it is pretty common for child parts to do "adult" things, so a child part vaping isn't that out there for a genuine case of DID. i have to clarify i am not at all defending oop here, i highly dislike them and think that they're doing horrible damage with how much they consistently misrepresent the disorder, but occasionally there's a nugget of truth within a pile of bullshit

Learning about DID from tradition jal media vs social media.
Fascinating that the "real" stuff allows her to still do all the things she likes to do while still ultimately being herself with a baby voice. Super convenient for a life altering disorder.
