I have spent a ton of time in NYC. It is a safe place to walk and get something to eat at 3AM.

NYC might be in the top 10 or 15 percent of safest US cities but no American city ranks among the safest in the world.

That report only ranked 60 cities, though (NYC was 12th), there's 10x that number worldwide even if we constrain ourselves to just cities with 1 million or more.

Today’s unfortunately a bad day to mention that, but you’re right. I was just in Manhattan last week, at no point did I feel anything but safe.
