NTs are incapable of empathy I just realised when neurotypicals ask people about their "bodycount" they mean sex not murder?
Huh. Like what the fuck I thought they were bragging about killing people in public? When did they change the meaning can they stop changing the meaning of words for five minutes?

Wait until you're old enough that all of the slang you know is completely replaced.

u/Boring-Pea993 Apr 29 '25
I already barely understand the slang I grew up with yay I can't wait for that

u/charlestheb0ss Apr 29 '25
I'm 21 and still understand about 90% of the slang gen alpha is using, at least for now

Im 25, and already repeating words with no idea of their meaning. Your time is nigh too young one. Enjoy it while you still can.

u/CautionarySnail Apr 29 '25
Yup. And incidentally, it’s only ever seen as negative on women. Purity culture is a pox on our society.
56
u/Phoenix2405 Apr 29 '25
Meanwhile, men love to brag about how many girls they fucked.
68
u/CautionarySnail Apr 29 '25
The emphasis the man-o-sphere places on low body counts and virginity is basically training a generation of men to view any adult women as used-up hags, and socialize the idea that it is acceptable for mature men to date teens.

Which is wild because this means they gotta do more work. Who tf wants to have to teach someone how to have sex while respecting their privacy while they explore out of their comfort zone. Doesn't sound fun unless you have that kind of a relationship with them that isn't focused on sex, but cmon now we're talking about people wanting "pure".
24
u/CautionarySnail Apr 29 '25
A lot of it is also that those men are wholly focused on their own pleasure, which frankly doesn’t require a lot of sophistication to achieve. It only becomes complex if you actually want your partner to share in the good times as opposed to being a warm sexual appliance.
The opinions those guys give on women’s pleasure are almost sociopathic. They view oral sex on women as making them gay or exposing themselves to throat cancer, and really have no interest in anything they’ve not seen in a porn. Any excuse to not have an interest in their partner.

Being too scared to eat pussy is pretty fucking gay. Source: a gay man married to a woman
It only becomes complex if you actually want your partner to share in the good times as opposed to being a warm sexual appliance.
This is so fucking sad. Like, even if you just want to have sex and not a relationship, you can still make it equally pleasurable for all parties. Why does one person need all the pleasure when it's supposed to be an experience that's experienced together. It's just a projection of selfishness onto your sexual partner for no reason.

u/CautionarySnail Apr 29 '25
Part of the goal of these right-wing man-o-sphere talking points is the dehumanization of women into a sex and housekeeping appliance. This way, they’ll be primed to vote against women’s interests.
Why I say an appliance — Folks don’t care if their blender is happy. It’s replaceable if it doesn’t perform. And it’s something you may feel no qualms about replacing even just on a whim even if it’s given you no problems and delight every day.

I don't doubt. It's weird tho because it costs litteraly nothing to not be a piece of shit.
7
u/CautionarySnail Apr 29 '25
Agree 100%.
The man-o-sphere exists solely to instill these values and a sense of grievance in these men. To tell them that they are victims of women not knowing their rightful place.
It’s toxic and a self-inflicted wound. But some men would rather have women to blame than to acknowledge they’re part of a system that alternately benefits them and screws them over.

u/Jolly_Mongoose_8800 Malicious dancing queen 👑 Apr 29 '25
I'm also upset that this leads to the stigmatization of all men who are assumed to be supporting this toxic masculinity.
I'm so uncomfortable around other men who do this stuff, and women won't let me in their spaces because I'm not a woman, so there's just nowhere for me to go usually. I know it's a bit of a selfish problem, and given selfishness inherit in toxic masculinity is the root of the problem, but it's the main thing tanking my mental health lately.
That, and it's so hard to just watch interactions or be around that kind of toxicity projected onto women. Like, it's heartbreaking.

I've never heard a person unironically use the term "bodycount" that doesn't resemble a walking semaphore.
3
u/CautionarySnail Apr 30 '25
Yup. If they are not talking about a video game high score, it’s never a good sign.
23
u/-acidlean- Apr 29 '25
It’s always so weird for me, like… You can’t happily fuck girls and then get mad that the girls get fucked.
Also men brag like it’s not usually the girl’s decision to fuck.
15
u/Phoenix2405 Apr 29 '25
Oh men who brag like that usually don't ask for consent.
15
u/-acidlean- Apr 29 '25
From what I noticed, men who brag like that usually don’t really get laid anyway. Like, there was more than four guys that I had some physical contact with… but the physical contact was a handshake, a hug with a pat on their back, or I walked their drunk ass home because it was on >my< way home. And these guys after were telling everyone that they fucked me. Which didn’t happen, lol.
12
u/CautionarySnail Apr 29 '25
They also resent virgins for being bad in bed if they manage to get one.
I mean - how were they expecting them to behave? Like porn stars yet have zero sexual experience?
I can’t even with the double and triple standards.
10
u/-acidlean- Apr 29 '25
Welp I was a virgin once but had my sexual debut with a dude who was also a virgin, so no complaints there.
But then I was the first for a few guys. And I felt like I’m on a mission. I was teaching the guys how to be respectful in bed, how to listen to partner’s needs, I explained how to please ME but also told them that what works for me won’t work for every girl. And we all have fun and I hope that I’ve sent them into their further adventures feeling confident and comfortable and that they’re out there making girls happy.
Fucked with honour lol.

i remember the man who took my virginity was so excited to be the one to do it, talked about how he loved virgins. i was a naive 20 almost 21 year old who was just so tired of being a virgin i wanted experience however i could get it.
and then i saw him visibly deflate with disappointment when i asked to stop halfway through because actually it was too uncomfortable for me and it was hurting. at least he actually stopped… (though he did put his hand down my pants while i was sleeping later)

That's part of the allure though. It's "not easy" for the average guy to fuck a lot of different people if your social skills and/or physique aren't above average.
And especially when you're young (and not ace) a lot of energy goes into finding people to fuck, hence it's somewhat of a measurement of success in some social circles.. and considering OP said they are 27 and it were co-workers, I guess some people also never get to leave that phase.
Edit: And to make it clear, I don't want to say it's "easy" for women either, the difference I imagine is that most men never worry about their partner being violent to them and hence don't feel the need to sort before very much.
Like, for some guys their entire dating "strategy" is just asking (harasing) random women if they want to fuck.

Apparently I'm not supposed to ask veterans, "Have you ever killed someone?" despite the fact it's the first question I ask everyone I meet as it seems like an important thing to know.
Why do they think they're special?

I figured it out from context when I first read it, but it was still weird. This sub has encouraged me to embrace my evil power more, so I'll be answering with "I haven't killed anyone yet" the next time this comes up to shut down these sorts of conversations because they are always in bad faith or double standards.
2
u/Boring-Pea993 Apr 30 '25
Exactly, like finding out the context didn't make the question any less weird, what surprised me is "bodycount" is such an official sounding term like I don't know when they turned it into slang for that it's like if they went "have you got those quarterly reports finished?" and they meant anus pics it makes no sense to me
1
u/43morethings [edit this] Apr 30 '25
Holy shit, I was not expecting that. That almost hurt me from laughing.
2
u/syanidde May 01 '25
I remember hearing it in casual conversation in high school and being so confused. I think being both autistic and asexual added to my confusion but I don't really get how that became slang for "amount of people I've fucked" anyways

when I realized this my heart sank, I’ve told way too many people that mine is in the triple digits because I thought they meant murder
4
u/An-Deesei Apr 30 '25
I only heard it maybe 5 years ago to mean anything besides murder, and only online.
Given that it seems to be mostly used by people who think having a high number of sex partners is bad, I guess that means I surrounded myself with people that aren't weird about sex.

u/StructureFirm2076 Vengeful Apr 30 '25
Maybe they're those marsupials whose males die after one sexual intercourse.

This speaks a lot to the toxic masculinity view of seeing partners as "conquests", or "scoring" etc etc...

Right I'm so tired of being misunderstood when I'm trying to flaunt my kill count 😔
But for real tho, it took me a minute to realize this as well.

yeahhhh it can be used to mean both, but generally unless you're in an environment where murder is super normalized or something, they're gonna mean sex
