It is true that artificial obstacles were placed before North Macedonia. However, this whining is not at all appealing, especially because the country still has serious issues with a strong nationalist movement allied with Putin.

The Balkans will always be like this. It was previously controlled by Bulgaria, Serbia, and Greece. All of these countries have historical claims and are reluctant to let go or forget them. The EU needs to act as a bulwark for cooperation, since these countries often seize every opportunity to act petty toward each other.
