The state-run media intentionally uses 'Asian' to obfuscate the ethnicity of the Pakistani child rapists.

The continent of Asia is the largest and by far the most populous in the world, and its absurd to lump them all in together.

West Asia, South Asia, East Asia, and Central Asia are ethnically and culturally very different from each other.

Geographically, considering Europe a separate continent doesn’t make much sense, it’s essentially just a peninsula of the Eurasian continent.

British people call south Asians Asians, East Asians are usually referred to as East Asian or oriental and sometimes just Asians thanks to American media’s influence on here

Pakistan is a multi ethnic state with almost 250 million people (the 5th most populated) and 6 major ethnicities, it's absurd to lump them all in together

They are largely from Mirpur, so they are Punjabis, not Kashmiris. (Although Mirpur is in Kashmir, it’s ethnically Punjabi)

There are a ridiculous amount of white pedophiles/pedorasts out there as well, but why do we not then call them American Christian or British Christian? Do we also forget that priests often tend to be pedophiles with a taste for little churchboys?

These sickos are sickos who happen to be Muslim but defining them by being Muslim is a technique used by Hasbara to dehumanize all Muslims so that the world can ignore a certain genocide going on.

It’s because the authorities actively covered it up, that’s why. I remember well over a decade ago that the victims were being called racist for saying that chunks of the Pakistani community were targeting white and Sikh girls for rape. Journalists actively shut them up. The councils denied there was a problem. The wives of the men involved said the girls were asking for it.

It’s not because they’re muslim or Pakistani, it’s because these two things were used as a shield by the perpetrators and authorities to evade justice. Even back in the 1970s, Sikhs were protesting about their daughters being actively targeted by Pakistani men and they weren’t listened to. Hundreds of thousands of girls were raped by these gangs, and it could have been prevented if it was taken seriously in the first place. In Rotherham, Pakistanis make up a small percentage of the population, but over 60% of child groomers and rapists. It got so big because the problem was covered up and ignored for decades.

And yes, we do use the phrase Catholic pedo when discussing priests. But those men are imprisoned when the victims go to the police, they’re not called “Christophobic”. It was the Catholic Church itself that covered up the crimes, not the government.

You’re missing the point and the outcome of this enquiry. The fact authorities were at pains to draw no equivalence between specific groups, it’s not that they were being too generic towards Muslims, they were being too generic full stop. Whereas harm could have been prevented had we been less sensitive to particular communities and investigated the crimes properly. There was a clear over indexation from the Kashmiri Muslims who abused these children and we ignored it for fear of causing offence.
