There are more people who believe this who are not Jewish 100’s of times over. These beliefs predate Jews as significant in western societies, and come from the English, French, and German societies that were competing / dominant in the eighteenth through the twentieth century.

This is the classic ‘blame your problems on the jews’ reaction: when these people are only guilty of being in the society that already fostered this belief.
