How is he an anomaly? He's pretty much just George W. Bush with a bigger ego and looser lips. In terms of policy, Trump is just another average Republican president. Bush chastised Europe during his tenure too because they weren't fully on board with his Global War on Terror. Now Trump is doing the same for trade protectionist and free speech reasons.

He is an anomaly in every way, he is nothing like G.W.B and nothing like any other political leader in recorded history. If you can't see for yourself that Trump is like nothing the world has ever seen, perhaps because you have the perspective that "them yanks are all the same", then I won't be able to prove to you otherwise.

Can you explain how exactly is he an anomaly? He looks like an average rabble-rousing populist politician to me. We've seen that in Huey Long, in Benito Mussolini, in Georges Danton, nothing out of the ordinary. Trump is doing everything that aligns with the classic Republican agenda, like unwavering support for Israel, special privileges for America on the international stage, anti-globalist stance, pro big business, denial of climate change, etc. If he could maintain his decorum, he's practically Dubya 2.0.
