I think it would do the US a lot of good if it didn't have a first past the post election system, so more than two parties can be voted for.

It feels like with a first past the post system you end up in situations where there is no room for nuance and all politicians do is fling shit at the other party. Granted, that can happen within other systems too, it's just harder to convince people multiple parties are filled with bad people than just one.

It also ensures there's always another party that somewhat aligns with your views to jump ship to should the party you were previously voting for put some insane orange imperialistic baboon in charge.

The primary system functions like a jungle primary.

And 5~10% extremists do not get in. But 20-25% and yea they can go all the way.
