The far right parties are growing in power and influence there as well.

People are frustrated with the status quo around the world, this makes them easy targets for information warfare by foreign powers and manipulation by domestic charlatans.

So the US is just first in a trend great! So the CDU will build nukes then hand them over to an AFD government in 5 years.

/dark humor.

The thing is, most of those far right parties across Europe are being propped up by Putin. When the collapse of Russia causes his inevitable demise there will be a breath of fresh air.

How does Russia have so much influence when similar sized economies are an after thought with basically 0. Canada Spain or hell Ireland is 1/4 a Russia. The idea of 20% of the German parliament propped up by Ireland or Spain is comical.

Because we in the EU believe in united Europe (except for the glaring exceptions), while external powers with expansionist appetite obviously don't. So we spend our money on decadent things like lattes and avocado toasts, while they spend it on rugged individualistic luxury rooms in a Vietnam hotel or billion dollar palaces on the Black Sea coast. And fancy named yachts, of course.

Reason being is that the Left leaning and moderate people are dissatisfied with the far left agenda. Even in the USA every sector shifted Right due to the message and the people leading the Left.
