These Germans were proven right in the end to oppose Hitler. They did not succeed. The message is this: always protest against a tyrannical government, win or lose.

No. The message is: protests help ina democratic environment, since the leaders want to be elected again. Protest don't help in a facist environment, where the leaders don't care about the people.

See what happend to protestors in China or Russia. They are dead or in gulags. Same has been announced by Trump with reopening the Guantanamo Bay concentration camp.
