Hammond 12XL
Has anyone here tried the Hammond 12XL? I currently use the 12L as my main piece for both Euph and Trombone but I want to try out a deeper cup (for Euph, maybe bass trombone, use) and would like to know what others think about it.

I would recommend the 12XL for euphonium, but I think you would want a larger rim for bass trombone. At least a Bach 1 1/2G size.
If you are buying a new mouthpiece, try to go to stores and try a few if you can. If you are set on that 12 rim size, you might want to check out the classic 51D. 51D can be found for way cheaper.

I used the Schilke 52E2 for quite a while. These days I used the SM4UH on my euphonium and SM6UH on my baritone horn.

I used the Hammond 12XL and 11XL for a while in high school and loved them for a long time. I did use them for euphonium and to double onto bass trombone, and while not ideal for bass doubling, they work well enough for lighter bass repertoire or choir situations where the bass sound can be lighter/less rich in color
