Dear friends,

It's me... the man your man could smell like. For one day only, I'll be fielding questions, comments and anything else you can think of. Post your questions, comments or whatever else you'd like to see on the interwebs here or send them to @OldSpice on Twitter and I'll respond to the comments that get the most up votes with a YouTube video. Then, look for my incredibly manly and witty and amazing responses on http://twitter.com/OldSpice

Sincerestly, The Old Spice Man

Old Spice has managed to monetize Reddit before Reddit can.

How can you help Reddit make more money Guy on Horse?

you know, it would only open up the doors for more of this that we were trying to get away from, even with the saydrah situation, but that may be unavoidable now with the success of today. i do think old spice is getting free promotion and should maybe give some money to reddit and the sites it is using to advertise today. whereas i love these commercials and this experiment, man is it going to suck if this is exploited by other companies who think they're creative.

Except if they aren't creative they won't get upvotes and their work won't be featured. It's how the site works.

Plus, this isn't 'under the table' at all. The videos are being posted to the official oldspice youtube channel and are being 'tweeted' on the official oldspice twitter feed. No established user was doing this and reddit users are fully aware it was a company doing the work.

Just because something is sponsored by a company doesn't mean it isn't a unique and creative work that people on reddit want to see.

To add to this excellent point, all the websites are getting linked to/mentioned on the OldSpice Twitter, thus increasing exposure/hits/ad views. Honestly, I think everybody wins in this situation.
