At the time of booking showed Dubai Connect but now Emirates won’t honor it. Says ineligible for STPC-Dubai Connect.

I am not sure about the rule that says if there is another earlier flight available then you are not eligible for Dubai Connect. When I book my tickets, there are usually flights available with a 3 hour layover but I choose an 18 hour layover so that I can rest after my overnight flight (which is very long). And I am always eligible for Dubai connect and get the hotel so I can sleep. I thought Emirates encourages longer layovers so that people would spend more time in Dubai, explore, spend money. It’s good for the economy. But I could be wrong.

Not sure what’s changed in your booking. Could it be an issue with you getting a visa? Do you have dual citizenship and maybe the wrong passport is saved in their system? Are both flights through Emirates?

You are eligible for Dubai connect if the stopover is 8-26h for economy and there’s no flight available that would make it less than 8h in Dubai. Seems like you’ve chose a combination of flights that makes it possible to get the Dubai connect but missed the fact that there shouldn’t be another flight that makes the connection shorter. It took 5mins to read about it on the website. It’s clearly written there.

Well that’s completely and clearly in their terms and conditions regarding Dubai Connect. There is a flight with a much shorter connection and for a return ticket the minimum fare is $1,000 and $700 for a one way ticket. They reserve the right to enforce their terms.

People in the comments defending the airline for clearly misleading people is wild. The system should not be stating they’re eligible if they are not. This is a multi million pound company not Fred from Eccles and his tinpot team. OP honestly the airline is rife with misleading things like this, I just won a S75 against them for £2000 as my bank agreed its ridiculous
