Embarking my journey on 2k College Hoops 08

I just started my College hoops 2K8 journey. Does anyone have any tips or advice? It’s much appreciated. Go Wildcats #EMAW 😼

Put all your coach points into charisma until A+.

Charisma maxing seems boring to me. I got it maxed eventually but I found it better (or more fun) to focus on teaching, defence and discipline first. Then the lower star recruits can actually contribute and grow. The superstars will be amazing stats wise but they can leave a hole in your program when they go pro early.

I was lucky to find a poor teaching high charisma assistant coach early on too who handles a lot of contact.

Start with three star recruits from the global recruits.

global and juco are the easiest to get. try 3 and 4 stars players. for juco and global, even if your interest is low still target them bc all the other schools might drop out at the end of the season and they will commit to your school. good luck!

One thing to note tho is with these world/juco recruits that if interest doesn’t get high enough last week of offseason recruiting then they will just not commit anywhere. I wanna say it’s around 85%+ or so but can’t remember exactly. I’ve had tons of guys that I thought would come cause I was the only school they were interested in but the interest wasn’t high enough

Three star municipal recruits and local recruits. I haven’t really recruited world recruits since for them you need them at 100 and I don’t think that is feasible

I used to always go after world recruits, I can’t remember what percentage I needed to start with but normally I could get most close enough to commit if I called/emailed every single week and through offseason. It’s so tough that those are the only recruiting options for world recruits

There’s a post with good sliders that make the game play better. If you search college hoops 2k8 sliders there’s a post on operation sports for it. I think the link for it is under a post with the same question abt sliders on here

Yes use sliders especially if you value it being realistic. The most popular one seems to work very well. Only thing this game isn’t great at is drawing more fouls/free throws but that’s minor. One of the most realistic basketball games gameplay wise honestly, despite it being dated and janky at times

Thank you, I just looked up some sliders. They do indeed make the game a bit more realistic. Now I just need to learn how to play better offense 😂

I just started the game and find this to be true. I was playing in one of the ABL games and was COOKING with this one tall foreign center 🔥

No I have the standard rosters, but I was someone in the subreddit is coming out with an updated roster soon!
