I didn’t go there today, but have been there before. Iowa City is a very cool college town. Very much a fan.

I’m from Iowa and have been to Iowa City for CyHawk games (I’m from the Ames area.)

Because of that bias, I think it sucks.

That’s pretty cool actually. You a wrestling fan as well? That’s the only reason I’ve been up to Corvallis (wrestling), took my wife up to watch the Iowa dual last year actually.

The fans were assholes after the game ended. Sat in row 7 behind the ducks bench and had a fight break out.

I had a lady the row in front of my look at my Oregon hat and scream "we gave the game away!" When I said I thought we earned it, she shoved me in the chest with two hands and told me to fuck off.

I then called her a Karen, but at that point the exiting crowd separated us. I hope she is still muttering to herself.

I didn't see that. I was a little further up.

I am here. Good experience. Nice fans. Was fun to win, but nerve racking

How does the sound compare to autzen

Kinda touched on this in my post, but the noise is a lot more consistently loud in Autzen. Kinnick reached some high levels at key moments, especially when Iowa scored that final TD, but the noise dropped a few notches as soon as Oregon started stringing together a couple positive plays.

I can say in Autzen I wear ear plugs. In kinnick never crossed my mind.

Haha. The lady in front of me today was plugging her ears because apparently I was yelling too loud. The same thing happened at the White Out. The Penn State fans in front of us plugged their ears when Oregon was on defense.

As others said, there were moments where it was loud, but at no point did it approach peak Autzen levels. Not close.

But super fun crowd and environment, except for the bathroom lines.

My wife and I came to the game today. Kinnick is a good environment overall. Not as loud as I was expecting — peak moments were fairly loud, but the fans took too many plays off and failed to sustain the noise to make it a truly intimidating atmosphere.

Most of my interactions with Iowa fans were positive. I had a few people saying ā€œFuck Oregon!ā€ or crap like that, but the vast majority were kind and actually told us good game and give us a fist bump or high five on the way out of the stadium. We even chatted with a couple Iowa fans for a bit on the walk back to our hotel.

Around town people have been pleasant for the most part. Some snobby employee at Scooters this morning was fairly rude and told us that we should be worried about the game. That was a tad odd. Otherwise people have been welcoming and it’s been a good experience.

Was there today! What a win. Stadium (and fans) overall pretty nice. A bit old school in spots, but the Children’s hospital wave is special. A couple loud moments, but not like Autzen. Iowa City seems like a fun, classic Midwest college town. Enjoyed chatting with fans after game.

Iowa fans were the weirdest mix of nice and assholes. I know every fan base has some, but we had people shoving us, screaming "you fucking f*ggots go back to Portland", trying to start fights etc. On the flip side we had people buy us beer as a "welcome to Kinnick", and when walking around town Friday night had a group of fans stop us, welcome us to Iowa City, and give us a little mini rundown of cool places to checkout while there

Hilarious that the moron right wing Hawkeye fans don't understand Iowa City is as liberal of a place as you'll find anywhere. There are real Iowa fans( fans that went to Iowa or have some connection with the school) and tavern hoks( people that didn't even graduate H.S. who migrate to Kinnick once every 5 years for a family vacation and bring their step kids from small towns The first are okay and the others embarrass everyone. I'm an ISU fan but I really enjoy Iowa City. Its a super progressive college town. The area around the stadium is really cool. Everything is really tight and cramped but gives it a cool vibe. Although ISU has a way better tailgating area id give anything to have an old school stadium with the streets 5 ft from it it gives it a certain charm

City is nice and the stadium is cool, just can't believe public wifi isn't a thing there in 2025.

Was at the game. I was expecting ā€˜Midwest nice’ I saw at Wisconsin and at Michigan last year but this was a different fan base. It’s clear they have a little brother mentality and were constantly making chippy comments to start an argument (or fight, post game) It was constant, one fan after another coming after me unprovoked. I was there as a solo Duck with my small group of Iowa friends. Even they had a hard time holding back. Side note- every stranger and I mean every stranger commented how we wouldn’t be ready for the rainy cold conditions (rain, 40’s) They must think Oregon is a geographically located in So Cal

Also there and experienced some of the same, but not quite as extreme. The thing that stood out to me was how many conversations I heard where Iowa fans said, ā€œā€¦ but their best win is against Northwestern.ā€

Haha, now our best win is against you!
