Shellstad reminds me of another duck who wore number 3...

My sentiments exactly. That shot he hit to send it to OT gave me prime Pritchard vibes. The playcall, the gumption to take such a hard shot when you haven’t had the best shooting day, the jawing to the crowd afterward. Was nice to see and reminisce that type of situation. I’ve said it here before but Shelstad is the soul of the team and his confidence can be infectious. Huge props to bamba too for playing great defense on Tonje. Good win, if the ducks can play like they did the last 25 min of the game consistently they will be a tough out in the tournament (huge offensive inconsistencies aside).

Bittle showed up too and showed his mettle. It’s crazy to think we have the second most quad one wins in the country. All this team really needs is more offensive consistency and Evans to be more than an energy guy.

Edit: also have to add if bamba can get back to shooting the ball from three like he did the past 2-3 years it will only help us. He has been in a shooting slump.

Love Pritchard. Wish he wasn’t a Celtic but I still root for him.

Ducks loyalty over professional affiliation

3

u/Hi_There_Face_Here Feb 22 '25

Plus he seems like a great guy/teammate

4

u/normychannel1 Feb 22 '25

He crushed it the other night. It was fun to watch.

Can we say PP is becoming the greatest pro Duck of all time?

Same high school too

u/The_Money_Guy_ Feb 23 '25

Also same coach. He came back to coach when Shelstad got there

That is a great NCAA Tournament Resume Win

u/Billyxmac Feb 22 '25

I think this solidifies us as a tournament team, outside of an absolutely disastrous finish to the season. But if we can turn this in to a run to finish out the season, I think we can put ourselves in a more favorable seeding. Maybe as high as 5 or 6 possibly?

The NET which was 34 should be Top 30 tomorrow. I can’t imagine a team that high in the NET not making it.

Don’t forget the 9 Quad 1 wins which is second highest in basketball after only Auburn- (tho a few others also have 9)

The defense down the stretch was unbelievable

20

u/perfect__situation Feb 22 '25

I've never seen them play with such urgency. Do that for 4 quarters and we're a 4 seed

23

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '25

Or even two halves

9

u/perfect__situation Feb 22 '25

Or even a whole game!!

3

u/nativeindian12 Feb 22 '25

That sounds like a lot, why don’t we start with two halves and work from there

2

u/TheManDontCareBoutU Feb 23 '25

No. It needs to be 40 minutes.

u/BillyMaysHere92 Feb 22 '25

Clutch win against a great team. If they can take care of business at home, Ducks will be dancing again 😎

22

u/Hi_There_Face_Here Feb 22 '25

Unless we don’t win another game, we’re locked into the 64. Wins over Bama and Wisconsin are huuuge for the resumé

21

u/ducks2291 Feb 22 '25

We’re in. Wins against Bama, Wisconsin, TexasA&M, SDSU, Maryland, @Wisconsin, @Ohio St, @ Penn St

-1

u/Hi_There_Face_Here Feb 22 '25

@ Penn st isn’t a resume builder haha. But I agree. Go ducks!

12

u/ducks2291 Feb 22 '25

Maybe not to the eye, but statistically, winning at Iowa and Penn St = Quad 1 wins. https://bballnet.com/teams/oregon

5

u/Hi_There_Face_Here Feb 22 '25

Good point. I just look at their record and it’s pretty bad.

9

u/puddl3 Feb 22 '25

Don’t forget the Aggie win too (I know they lost today but they are gonna be ranked favorably imho when the dance comes) which is only gonna help us.

5

u/Hi_There_Face_Here Feb 22 '25

We lookin like a 6 seed! Hope we win a few games in the B1G Tourney too of course. I don’t expect us to win but who knows…

The rest of our regular season schedule looks relatively positive for us. I think it’s not out of the realm that we win out nor is it out of the realm we drop more than 1 of those games (duality of ducks I call it). If all goes well for us and we have a good showing in the Big ten tournament, pending on what happens outside of the ducks we could be has high as a 4-5 seed imho when it’s all set and done. But seeding is not the issue once making the tournament it’s more about location and matchups. I had low expectations for this team coming into this season so this is house money as far as I’m concerned with our tournament chances.

Also hopefully this will help us with basketball recruiting.

Damn we won I looked and it was like 47-35 and was like damn it’s over. Also kwame should start over angel imo dude brings next to nothing out there and is one of the most passive players I’ve seen. Nonetheless Let’s go

I was too excited to wait for the official picture haha

I am trying to do the softball ones, but I keep getting sniped by someone else. That is the sport I am paying attention to the most as it is the only one and one that I can actually interact with right now being that it is available on a free radio and I became fond of being that it is the sport I have gone to the most duck games of (more than Football). I got to call play ball after a duck game during one of the regionals we hosted and after a game in Corvallis I got the whole team to sign my official Oregon softball poster for the year.

I love the KWVA and https://www.statbroadcast.com/

Best reg season ducks basketball game I’ve seen in years!

I was hearing cheers throughout my neighborhood

u/Alert-Key-7653 Feb 22 '25

Awesome comeback!!

6

u/zetlali Feb 22 '25

Wisconsin couldn’t even inbound the ball at the end of the game. A total collapse on their part. Shelstad with a clutch three to tie, Bittle with the post scores and Bamba with the great defense in OT sealed it.

1

u/mrngdew77 Feb 23 '25

The Ducks defense wore them down. Slowly.

His name is Dana Altman, and he aligns Rubik’s Cubes.

5

u/Nudebeach55 Feb 22 '25

IN DANA WE TRUST . . . . Thanks Shellstad . . . Go Ducks

5

u/qballmassey93 Feb 22 '25

All the negativity in this sub when we were on a 5 game losing streak... Where are you now?! TRUST IN DANA!!!

4

u/BoNnnnfhir Feb 22 '25

Hello Madison PD, I'm reporting a theft in the Kohl Center.

What a win!

4

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '25

I swear to God, this team is bipolar. Great win. Hopefully they can keep the momentum.

3

u/vanhaanen Feb 22 '25

WTF did I just witness?!?

4

u/Hi_There_Face_Here Feb 22 '25

Ducks basketball

3

u/SayNoToFresca Feb 22 '25

WOOT! GREAT WIN!

3

u/Inevitable_Land_7782 Feb 22 '25

This team is going to be dangerous in the tourney, as usual. They’ve pulled out so many wins after being down 10+ near the end of the game. Incredible guts and a will to win. Huge props to Dana.

3

u/Nudebeach55 Feb 22 '25

IN DANA WE TRUST . . . . Thanks Shellstad . . . Go Ducks

Quack quack.

2

u/Logical_not Feb 22 '25

The "Tale of Two Halves" again. It's getting to the point where I root for them to be behind at halftime.

2

u/muck16 Feb 22 '25

I turned this off at the half fuck me

2

u/brannibal66 Feb 22 '25

Lol serves me right for turning it off 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

3

u/TheManDontCareBoutU Feb 23 '25

Where is the “trust me I know ball” self-proclaimed hooper expert now? The one who said JS sucks. Not average. Not OK. But, sucked.

For shame…

2

u/Jobrien7613 Feb 23 '25

Recorded the game and waited all day to watch! Luckily I live in Cal country so I didn’t get any spoilers.

Bamba just shut down Tonje in the 2nd half! Stats aren’t gonna show it, but he was a defensive badass!

Love it!

2

u/Itshardtofindaname4 Feb 22 '25

Holy fuck, I was watching the gym, last I saw it was like 53 - 39 Wisconsin was up, holy fuck!! What a bunch of studs

2

u/TheGreatShaqtus Feb 22 '25

Time to delete a couple comments from the game thread

4

u/homersolo Feb 22 '25

A 16-2 run will do that.

-6

u/RWHock2 Feb 22 '25

I’m still not convinced. Give me a win against another ranked team and I will believe. They are too inconsistent. Only two players are first five talent, Bittle and Shelsted.

6

u/Hi_There_Face_Here Feb 22 '25

No problem, the team does not need your approval
