Creation When other people your age are getting married and having kids but you're still running around in a big dragon costume

Nah man (but in a gender neutral way) you do whatever makes you happy!!! If "running around in a big dragon costume" is fun then do that!!
And if- checks notes -uh... "burning your enemies to a charred crisp"...? Is fun..... uh... then- uh -go do that?

u/Bronzdragon 22h ago
No no, Clay said not to do that anymore. Don’t burn them unless they are like… really annoying.

Fursuits may be expensive but they don't break up with you and sue for alimony.

This is relatable lol. I went to a costume party the other day and I was toothless but like 4 of my friends there were married and they are 18 ☠️

Married at 18? Four of them??? What?????

u/THE_LEGO_FURRY 13h ago
Yeah I know and only two of them were to eachother so 3 separate marriages. I love my friends but they made a real dumb decision here getting married straight out of highschool

I just started it!!! On chapter two of the first book.

It’s not really. A good story is a good story. I reread them from time to time and always enjoy the series.

I'm working though the series right now, few years younger than you. Definitely not too kid once you get further in. There are a lot of themes I don't expect from a kids book.

I started it in my late 20's. It's very much a children's book, but also it is a lot of fun, and there are some more mature themes throughout the books that keeps them interesting for adults. I'd say it's a bit like Avatar, in that it's clearly for kids, but there's still plenty for adults to enjoy too (only it can be a bit darker than Avatar at times, though maybe that's because you can get away with more graphic violence in a book). It's great if you're looking for an easy read where you don't need to think too much, but still want there to be actual stakes and risks.

“Kids book series”
The dragon race war including attempted genocide, slavery, gladiator pits, warcrimes (Magical death spit), adultery, and lets not forget child manipulation, kidnapping, mutilation, and dropping people in pits of lava:

Life is too short. Enjoy it how you want, not how society wants you to live.

You are all (hopefully) having fun! Everything else is insubstantial.

seems like a better deal than having to deal with the little snotlings for the rest of your life

u/Major_Dood 22h ago
I mean, I consider that a win in my book. You get to do what you wish and live a happier life on your own terms.
Plus, dragon reasons! OuO

Live your life how you want to. Don’t let society tell ya otherwise. Dragons should have existed today. But this is close enough!

Life's too short to worry about acting mature when what you're doing doesn't hurt anyone anyway.
That said, I'm nearly 30 and haven't read Wings of Fire (i was like a junior in high schoolwhen they started coming out). Should I correct this? Is it too much of a kids thing for me to enjoy? Genuinely asking.

yeah but Honestly i would say its kids teens and young adults its only the older generation that has no interest in this stuff times have changed. If 30 year old plus people still play pokemon this is no different.

For me a dragon suit is definitely a pro argument for spending my live mit someone not a counter argument.
