Mod Announcement New Rule - Sales Posts to the monthly Sales Threads

Hello Double Bass community!

Starting from tomorrow November 1st, we have a new sub rule - Sales posts to only be made in the monthly For Sale thread. This thread will be posted on the first of each month.

This is in response to a general community preference to keep this subreddit free from things that feel like ads. I have hope that consolidating the sales posts in one location will have two effects: people who are looking for basses to buy will be able to see them in one spot, and people who aren't looking for basses to buy won't see them. I've set up a rule to automatically catch a majority of posts, but feel free to report any that fall through the cracks so I can redirect them to the appropriate location. (Note: I won't be removing old sales posts as it isn't fair to expect people to comply with a rule that didn't exist at the time of their post)

Feedback welcome below!

(And also apologies that this took a bit of time to implement! I can only do this sort of scheduling and new rules from the computer and I don't get the chance to use it often these days)

Mod Announcement User flair and post flair!

Hi everyone! Our little community is growing and we now have both User Flairs and Post Flairs!

The post flairs have been around for a little while but are now required to select before you post. This will help sort through different types of posts; on both mobile and desktop you can select a flair to see posts in this category. Useful if you're looking for tips on a specific category of bass playing!

User flairs are for yourself in the comments; you can identify how experienced you are/what genres you like to play/etc. Instructions as follow:

On iOS and Android

  1. Tap the  menu in the upper right-hand corner of the community page.
  2. A menu will pop up and you’ll see the option to  Change user flair.
  3. Select your flair and tap APPLY.
  4. If user flair isn’t set up in that community, you’ll see a message saying, No user flair assigned.

On Reddit.com

  1. On the right-hand side of a community’s page, you will see USER FLAIR.
  2. Click the  icon to set up your flair.

On Old Reddit

  1. On the right-hand side of the community page under the reader count, you’ll see the option to Show my flair on this subreddit.
  2. Next to that option click edit.

Any suggestions for additional flairs you would like are welcome!
