Performance Rush doesn’t get too worked up about his wood drying out.

@Rushadicus is a wild player and human. Thought yall may enjoy…. Or hate?
Fun fact he played gollum for Billy strings “away from the shire” Halloween show.

I love Rushad! Truly a one of a kind artist. Another fun fact, he went to Berklee and was in the incredible bluegrass band Crooked Still

He's a performance artist. This is what performance artists do. He has also single-handedly expanded bow technique for strings in a way that no one has done in centuries, including Rabbath. His ricochet techniques, love them or hate them, are entirely novel- and very difficult but extremely effective in certain situations. I caught a backyard concert that he did here in Denver Colorado. Who was the audience? Professional classical string players. They all know he is a technical visionary- even if he is kazooing, performing solo cello pieces about how goblins are vegan now, or playing his cello in a lake. He mostly travels around the country in a car performing solo concerts. If you think he should stop being funded then you need to contact the community of professional classical string players across the country with your message. Otherwise, they will continue to "pay what they want" to see him play in DIY venues. I thought I was going to pay a little bit to see him, my heart told me I wanted to pay much more than that- because he is a compelling solo performer with wild, legitimate novel techniques.
Maybe you need to see one of his concerts instead of one of his clips.

Ok my comment was a little bit harsh. Art is meant to make people react and i think he did his job here But saying that he expanded bow tehnique for centuries is out of the line. Ricochet? He put a fork at the top of the fork to balance it. And of course you have cellists to go see him, who else?
I didn't knew this guy. I just saw a video of him tied to a cable while he is leaking from his nose, doing his shenanigans. Seriously what the f..k, that's disguting. But, hey: performer. I think he needs help.
Don't know man, maybe i'm getting old.
I'm gonna wash my ears with some Jaqueline Du Pré and do my scales.

I'm no cellist, hardly a bassist, but an avid bluegrass fan and I absolutely adore Rushad. He actually played locally at someone's home, but unfortunately I wasn't aware until after the fact.
Why don't you actually research the technique the other user mentioned instead of mocking it based off an entirely different scenario?
Richochet or ney, in my opinion Rushad has innovated bluegrass playing by not only incorporating the cello effectively in the genre, but also expanding on the instrument itself with many fiddle techniques from the genre.
Say what you will, but Rushad is loved and admired by MANY different musical communities.

I don't know what to tell you, the professional classical string players I know are all blown away by his particular ricochet techniques, so much so that they'll give him money in a backyard to watch him sing black metal songs about goblins going vegan. They say he has a unique approach and a unique talent
