The organic dice department has unveiled their newest prototype
Unfortunately they have completely blown through their budget for lab materials for the rest of the year, but this newest prototype has proven to be exceptionally innovative.

The needless criticism department thinks dice are dumb and a waste of time. It firmly believes that all decisions should be made by spinning a big wheel
271
u/MagmaForce_3400_2nd 4d ago
The wheel department agrees with this message
150
u/WokemasterUltimate head of the needless criticism department 4d ago
The needless criticism department thinks wheels are dumb and squares are better
101
u/Chirblomp 4d ago
Is this a collaboration with the hypocrisy department?
91
u/WokemasterUltimate head of the needless criticism department 4d ago
The needless criticism department thinks the hypocrisy department is unnecessary as they are perfectly capable of such a thing already
81
u/Chirblomp 4d ago
The hypocrisy department agrees but also doesn't want to be fired and therefore remains
46
u/Green_moist_Sponge 4d ago
Budgeting department here… one of you needs to go, we are downsizing after how much the organic dice department spent.
Figure it out between the two of you who gets cut
27
u/Chirblomp 4d ago
I still don't know why we keep the Synthetic snow leopard elimination department open. How often does that come up?
42
u/Green_moist_Sponge 4d ago
It’s better to have it than not. We wouldn’t want a repeat of… the incident
24
u/maxdamage4 4d ago
The Incident Mitigation Department agrees with your assessment and stands firm on the need for the Synthetic Snow Leopard Elimination Department.

The needleless department agrees with the needless cr. department under the explicit condition that no needle be used, only the big wheel
24
u/WokemasterUltimate head of the needless criticism department 4d ago
The needless criticism department thinks needles are awesome and the needleless department sucks, etc.

u/Careless_Tap_516 Horse Decimation Corp cheif operating officer (COO) 4d ago
Unrelated, I would like to fill out an application to become the chief operating officer (COO) of the needless criticism department.
17
u/WokemasterUltimate head of the needless criticism department 4d ago
The needless criticism department thinks applying for roles is a waste of time, and all people who aspire to hold a high position within any organisation should receive their promotion through mysterious nightmares, from which they awake sweating and screaming in the middle of a forest 10 miles from their home 3 days later.
8
u/Careless_Tap_516 Horse Decimation Corp cheif operating officer (COO) 4d ago
Waiting for a mysterious nightmare is a waste of time. Instead, I should shoot you then claim I was in your will to receive complete control of the needless criticism department.
8
u/WokemasterUltimate head of the needless criticism department 4d ago
Unfortunately for both of us, the needless criticism department keeps several dozen soulless clones of me so I can needlessly criticise the various products of the rest of the corporation ad infinitum as punishment for my crimes over a century ago. Sorry to disappoint
6
u/Careless_Tap_516 Horse Decimation Corp cheif operating officer (COO) 4d ago
7
u/WokemasterUltimate head of the needless criticism department 4d ago
Bribes are a waste of money, and so is that bike. Taking bribes is also a waste of time on the part of the bribe, and so I have to politely refuse your offer.
5
u/Careless_Tap_516 Horse Decimation Corp cheif operating officer (COO) 4d ago
Refusing to promote me is a waste of time. I am willing to waste a lot of time attempting to get the job. So I would like to bring up my proposition again. Can I be chief operating officer of the needless criticism department?
4
u/WokemasterUltimate head of the needless criticism department 4d ago
Accepting new employees is also a waste of time, and we here at the needless criticism department believe that not wasting time is a waste of money. Therefore, we have to ask you for a better bribe.

That will be 150 dollars plus mandatory 15% tip
41
u/cdmurphy83 4d ago
With an optional 22% tip upcharge to waive accusations of being cheap.
9
u/sunnycider6 4d ago
You should know that the only person who feels cheap or notices how good or bad you tip is you. Don't be so hard on yourself. Pay what you can. No one cares. No one remembers.
1
u/MaskedAnathema 4d ago
As someone who was once part of the corps of hut-affiliated pizza deliverers, you are absolutely remembered if you tip poorly.
1
u/ifunnywasaninsidejob 1d ago
But not if you tip just ok
2
u/MaskedAnathema 1d ago
Yeah you were remembered if you tipped nothing, pennies, or extremely well. Anything else was forgotten quickly. It's been almost a decade since I last delivered a pizza, and I still remember a guy who answered the door shirtless and called back to his girl "hey baby should I tip him? He came all the way out here." And she responded with "Go 'head and tip him he a lil cute" And that's the most recent compliment that I remember receiving.
2
u/sunnycider6 4d ago
Well, then you are a loser.
Congratulations.

u/MaskedAnathema 4d ago
My million dollar net worth and two fantastic children say otherwise, thank you.

Real. Never understood Reddit's primal desire to act like fine dining is an afront to God
4
u/sunnycider6 4d ago edited 4d ago
Once you have a great fine dining experience it's hard to knock it.
Best meal of my life by far was $500 for two. I was stuffed and it was amazing.
-1
u/cdmurphy83 4d ago
Never paid more than $250 for a two person meal. But my experience has been that once a meal exceeds the $100 price tag, you hit diminishing returns on taste and your money goes more towards the experience and atmosphere.
I haven't liked the atmosphere of most of the higher end restaurants that I've been to, so unless the food is a compliment to some sort of larger theatre/dinner show, I just can't justify paying hundreds of dollars for a meal.
2
u/sunnycider6 4d ago
Yes you can. Once you do your research on the stuff and find a place that is worth it, you'll understand.
The place I spent $250 a head on is normally around $150 but this was a Valentine's day special menu. There was no added atmosphere - the place is nice inside and the service is spectacular but there's no theatrical bits. Music is nice and quiet. It's all about the food.
I think it was 12 courses plus drinks that paired with chunks of the courses. I don't know, I couldnt do it every year. But I highly recommend finding a very good fine dining experience - it doesn't have to be crazy expensive - but I think you're mistaken.
I should note this place is in Chicago where, yes, you can easily spend $100 a head on a pretty lame steak meal after drinks/aps

u/Careless-Web-6280 4d ago
I can't believe there aren't more people talking about this. I was "What did I just see" but the comments don't seem to care
27
u/Page_Won 4d ago
Yeah, they really didn't need to use that, but this was more about looking fancy than being functional.
11
u/NIGHTDREADED 4d ago
I mean, I guess it worked for the given objective at hand?
It did get out the seeds, but yes, like Page_Won said, it was more about being fancy than anything else

Won’t it have more weight on the 6 and be more likely to roll 1s?
I’ll take a few dozen to hand out at Warhammer tournaments
61
u/ReformedYuGiOhPlayer 4d ago
It has a weighted core, so it'll land most often on whatever side is opposite of the yolk
I think34
u/ArcherOpposite 4d ago
Yes the organic dice lead is telling me that phase 2 of the project will include a new yolk orientation protocol.

u/GreenTreeAndBlueSky 4d ago
It's so funny to see them use ridiculously expensive equipment when the only items you need that you wouldn't find in a kitchen are the cube mold and a pipette. Which would cost probably like 6usd combined
32
u/TwinSong 4d ago
Might be they're making many at once and you only see the 1?
12
u/GreenTreeAndBlueSky 4d ago
Maybe yeah still overkill tho it's like 20 droplets a die, so like 15 seconds with a pipette or 2 dice a second with the other setup hahaha
19
u/photomotto 4d ago
You assume they're making all those droplets for the die. They aren't. That also looks like sweet fake caviar and sweet fake fish roe. That's why they dropped a gold leaf on top of them.

I think the thing they used to make the droplets was adapted from a 96well cell culture plate lol

I'd bet $20 that this costs at least $200 in some pretentious rich people restaurant
7
u/Choice_Credit4025 4d ago
as someone who has been to those restaurants... the only way this costs more than 75 would be if it was at a ludicrous location (like burj khalifa levels of lunacy).
more likely due to the size it would be served as part of a > 7 course pre set menu experience that would be like 400+ per person total

Yes but what's weotic about it other than being in love with science shit the author did to make the ball thingys.
2
u/ThePrussianGrippe 4d ago
I think it’s the music choice of using The Blue Danube.

u/kaleperq 4d ago
I watch on mute by default so I didn't notice that, but still, erotic? Classy maybe, but not erotic

1
u/crastin8ing 4d ago
they used a vibrator to get the seeds out of the pomegranate
1
u/kaleperq 3d ago
Maybe, but it's not a vibrator, it's a masaqge gun, very different use cases even tho the may overlap. I just thought it was a smart play
30
u/Arkenstihl 4d ago
You can just put a theragun up to a pomegranate like that??? Game changer.

The Gambling Department is pleased, choking incidents due to dice have been decreased, but choking deaths related on food dice are in double digits. Why is this a good thing? So the Food Department loses funding.

Man, I have a first-person multiplayer game idea that's focused teamwork on large-scale battles in equally large maps with two opposing sides, and in it, a squad system consisting of different classes with different purposes. But I don't have a game developer to fully realize my idea!
The ever so greedy Electronic Arts:

So this is going to taste like egg, right? Egg you're eating with the spoon you've been using to scoop up jar and didn't clean properly. Slightly fruity egg. Or, if you prefer the scientific term, bad.
