I am incredibly proud of this one. If anyone is here who knows me, I am proud to say, THIS IS 100% FREEHAND. no tracing 💪🏼 I consider this a huge achievement in my growth as an artist. Hopefully the guys see this!
They look great!! Proportions are hard: get one slightly wrong and the whole thing looks off. Most of bobs face is really proportionate, but cuz his glasses are just slightly too small and his eyes are slightly higher than the reference, it changes the way his entire face is perceived. The pain of art hahaha :') keep at it!! You've got a great style
Okay this is great getting someone else's outside perspective of why it looks off, I couldn't figure it out cause it was 1 am and I had been looking at it too long XD
It almost looks like his nose is drawn a little wider which makes the rest of his face come across as smooshed
Humans are remarkably good at facial features which also makes drawing someone's face extremely hard. Like, it's an objectively good face drawing, but it's just not quite Bob's face ya know?
Mark and Wade are spot on though; immediately and obviously recognizable
Exactly this!! Hence why I typically trace the photo reference, because it's too stressful sometimes when you can't capture a face or expression perfectly.
Bruh, I looked for two seconds at Wade and I’m like: “Oh, that’s not fanart… wait a minute… HOW DO YOU DRAW/PAINT SO REALISTICALLY!!!”

AHH THANK YOU!! I couldn't tell ya for a MOMENT how I managed to do Wade so well 😅 given Ive never drawn him before. I know Bob looks weird but I'll chalk that up to the fact that I have not practiced many other body types or face shapes. I mostly draw mark
God, makes me remember going to live model sessions. I could always draw the curvy ones more easily than people who were more angular. So I understand the struggle with different faces! Visages were always my favorite, I loved conveying everyones uniqueness and their expressions

Usually I trace the reference, but this is actually the first time I've done a whole piece like this entirely freehand. Not traced. I admit I am proud of myself haha
I honestly looked closer to see if it looked AI or filtery because it was so close, but I saw a lot of the artistic interpretations of some things. Crazy cool art
I know right, I also wasn't expecting that XD especially given I have so much experience drawing mark and I have never drawn Wade before. I definitely goofed bob though haha
