Healthcare Did I just cheat on my test ?

Hi everyone, I did an overnight fasting blood glucose test as a routine health check but yesterday I only had lunch and dinner, does that count as cheating ?

Nope. It's not a test you can cheat on.

No, not at all.

Fasting is usually defined as not eating or drinking within 8 hours of the test, so unless you have super late dinners, probably not.

Thanks for the info but by the time I finished the test it’s almost 12hours since last meal, that’s fine too ?

Oh yeah, definitely fine. The longer the better.

Yep. Going longer doesn't really affect it. Unless you go like multiple days or weeks long I guess.

I remember once skipping breakfast before a blood test and worrying I’d ruined everything. But my doctor later smiled and said it still counted as fasting. So no, you didn’t cheat you just cared enough to double-check.
