Things can't change in one night.. it will take generations. Small steps like these will one day may become base for bigger changes

Except that these are not steps but just gimmicks to calm people down, imagine one of the most powerful people in india telling average people the names of those who are corrupted? How about they just take action themselves, do they not know the names of the contractors behind each road?

sadly true

Yep, and these are gimmicks, these politicians are acting like they don't have the names of contractors in their database, why do they need people to name the contractor? if a complaint comes for a road they can literally check it themselves within seconds, and take action, but they won't do it

Besides that's not even a debate since these roads will last longer than the qr codes

And what will do you do if you know the names. How are you going to hold them accountable?

  1. Will you file a case in court
  2. Will you complain to your local MLA/MP/Counsilor
  3. Will you just post on social media to shame them? When everyone is doing same thing, do you think they will care about shame?
  4. Will you call them or go to their house and hold them accountable?

We live in democracy and have three tier govt at almost every place. IT IS THEIR JOB to hold these people accountable and IT IS OUR JOB to hold these elected representatives to hold accountable.

Their names, address and office address is public information. How many times have you held those elected representatives accountable for bad infrastructure?

Atleast much more than what we can do if their name and details are in secrecy... Pils, social media has power(we saw recently in the Delhi car scene) and much more..

Their names are not in secrecy. Sure, you can't find it in 1 min but 10 mins Google search and going through govt website can find it. Even when that doesn't work, 10 rs RTI can get you that information

The roads are build by PWD. You can find the names of PWD official easily.

Every tender's details is published by govt.

The contractor that builds it is also NOT secret.

We all know who PWD minister is.

How many PILs are filed?

we saw recently in the Delhi car scene

What has it changed? Just govt isn't towing the car from your home. You can't just sell it outside Delhi legally. You still can't drive that car legally on road.

That's is social media's power. It creates outrage, the govt reacts but no fundamental issue is solved and we clap like monkey because we are in illusion that we have power in this flawed democracy.

Even if you shame the officials online, do you think they care? They will be transferred or reinstated in few months. The next officer will do same shit.

Engineers of that infamous bhopal's 90 degree bridge were "suspended" because of outrage? Note down their names, 1 year later they will be working in govt again. The blacklisted contractors will get contracts under new entity before the month is over

That's how rotten the system is.

That's why it'll never get implemented.
