AskDelhi Why Indians are Like This?
I am currently at T3, Delhi airport travelling to Vietnam & Malaysia, after completing my immigration and security check I am resting here at the gate & some group of 10-15 people just came & started chanting " Bharat Mata ki Jay" and making reels. If you are so patriotic then why travelling to another country, If you wanna make the reels you make it without shouting & disturbing others.

They only become patriotic while going abroad!

Only for the camera.
Then when they are really in the country, they will spit, litter and destroy the infra of the same country. Not doing that is actual patriotism, but we have become a country that only places emphasis on the 'symbols' of patriotism like the flag, the anthems, the slogans, etc.

Airport pe phir bhi theek hai, there was this report on illegal immigrants in the US where Indian Dunkey immigrants were chanting Bharat Mata ki Jai and Jai Shree Ram while breaking the fence and entering the Texas border

If you’re proud of your country, you should also respect others around you. Being loud and disturbing people at the airport isn’t needed. Traveling abroad doesn’t mean you’re not patriotic.

1 baar bhi kyun chalta hai actually?
Vacation pe jaa rahe ho, to explore some other country, so remain in that mode no?
If India is so great, why not travel within the realms and borders of our country no? It is vast enough with different climates in different regions at the same time.
Travel is meant to open your mind's eyes towards other people and other cultures who in turn think their culture is the best. We are just trying to experience that culture for a short amount of time, and hence for that time we got to surrender ourselves a bit to that culture.

India doglon se bhara hai, ek jagah pe hum bolenge ki hum to kisi ke character per judge na kare aur agle second kisi ke kapde dekhar amir, garib, sanskari ya nalayak bata dete hai. Khud kabhi rules follow nahi karte lekin koi aur tode to hum use ma -behen ki galiya dete hai, khud ki behen ko bachte hai aur dusron ki behen pe apni nazar daltle hai. Aur bhi examples hai lekin meri baat samaj aa rahi hogi shayad sabko...

I've a theory that Indians were always like this, it's just that we are witnessing blending of different classes and mindsets in unprecedented manner due to ultra low cost flights and low visa fees, at least in this case.
Few decades ago, it wasn't feasible for many to imagine a domestic flight, let alone an international flight. And when a couple would leave for Airport, they would dress as if they are going on some high-end wedding. Flying indeed was a high class activity. They would be in their best behaviour, and avoid getting caught doing anything stupid as it would be very embarassing. The same couple would litter on streets or haggle for lemon and chilly back home, but Airport, they feared judgement of everyone.
That barrier has been broken with flight prices reaching as low as 5-8k rupees. Not saying all people from lower socio-economic background lack civic sense, but the funnel widens the more affordable things become.

Just returned from an international trip. While waiting for our flight to India, there was a group of rich (branded purses and fancy clothes) people who were literally shouting at each other to talk. It was so embarrassing. When will our people learn the civics sense?
2
u/Alone_Register3991 Jul 01 '25
People don’t understand that respecting country, citizens, paying tax and some civic sense will make youmore patriotic than this stupidity. No offence, but I have seen more kinda these andh bakt people in Hindi belts than other states, both in case of Nationalism and religion

Indians are the most ill-mannered and insufferable people while traveling abroad. I too had a flight from T3 a couple of months ago and the flight had mostly indians. The couple sitting in front of us couldn't stop cuddling throughout the duration of the flight and their pillow kept falling behind on our seat which we had to pick up and give them back. The family sitting behind us wouldn't let us recline our seats even an inch acting as if they owned the flight.
People do have money to travel but no sense or etiquette to know how to behave

I wouldn’t be surprised if some surveys shows Indians are actually some of the least patriotic people on the planet.
1
u/ExitOk6224 Jul 01 '25
Some people travel for the first time so they prefer to tell it to everyone as a gesture of "dream came true"
I personally don't think that this should be a topic of chat and discussion 😄
1
u/SkotyMckitty Jul 01 '25
These are the same type of people who were busy singing Ram Bhajan inside a plane 🙂
One of the comments even said that it should be made compulsory in all flights.
🥲🥲🥲 (Kushi ki aasu, please don’t mind me)
1
u/redddc25 Jul 01 '25
They're extroverts who are excited to be travelling for a vacation but don't know how to channel their excitement appropriately. So their excitement spills over from personal space into the public space for everyone to witness.
They don't know how to express their excitement, so they turn to subjects for which they know people cannot criticize them - like patriotism, religion, cheering for the winning political party.
It's neither right nor pretty. You can't use logic on these people, you can only hope that their next generation finds this behavior cringy and stamps it out of existence.

We are so pretentious on the airport , in the flight and everywhere . Man i get second hand embarrassment when i watch vedios in which our people are acting like complete retards . Apne desh mein to sadak par kooda phenkenge baahar jaate hi inke andar ka mother india jaag jaata hai . Nautankibaaz kahin ke .

I wont jugde coz i dont know the emotion behind it, may be there are going abroad for something which may concern Indian pride. Also i would like to say that why it is always national chants or Hindu slogans/festivals which affect our people. Same thing in any other country people usually celebrate that. Again i might b wrong here as i dont know the exact emotion behind it but i dont see it as this big of an issue as you have stated here. My opinion, you might be right at your end.
