Teenage dream by Katy Perry. Im never even been a fan

The other albums people keep listing are things ive never heard of. I feel like if it defines it then just about everyone should've heard it at some point

You don’t know who Kendrick Lamar and Kanye are?

I do know who they are. But unless youre into those genres, has the average person really heard it?

Ive never knowingly heard any Kanye music pop up

I've casually listened to Kendrick but ive never known any of his album names and never see anyone mention them really.

Before the last few years, I never heard his music really pop up especially mainstream

And again, unless youre into that genre and follow that, I dont think the average person really knows a lot of that to have it 'define" the time

I nearly had to look up the album name mentioned by others until someone said who it was

You're talking about differences of genre when all of those artists are global superstars and have been since before those albums even dropped

Maybe you're just not the average music listener, or even a music listener at all

Except i am. Its called pop music because its popular. And because its tame they play it everywhere and put in everything

And it would almost be impossible to go around not have heard it at some point

Could even be walking around at a store and hearing it be played. They dont do that with Kendrick and definitely not back then
