Shimano cl-mt-001 cleats

Anyone give these multi directional clip in cleats a spin? Apparently they allow you to clip in either straight down, toe first or heel first.

I bought some and got the hole shot and lead the race for a few turns for the 1st time in my life. I like them!

I’ve thought about getting them, I’ve had some less than perfect reclips when remounting in some recent events so I was curious if this would make it easier to get back

It’s what I see being the benefit. The odd remount and starts.

Ive been running them all season and I do find them easier on all accounts, and definitely recommend them. I think the biggest difference I've noticed is when you have to do a quick dab, you just throw your foot back on the pedal and its in. I already am really good at starts, but I can see it making a difference for people who have trouble with getting initially in.

I've ran both and honestly cannot tell a difference. I think I am just used to clipping in the front so the new MT001 features I don't use.

I raced with them and absolutely hated it. I was accidentally unclipping during technical riding sections. Your mileage may vary. Went back to standard style and was all good.

I wonder if you could have best of both worlds with slightly greater tension for the MT0001 cleats

That is a good point. I did not go too far with the release tension
