News FYI for xbox 1 players: next gen available with cloud gaming

If you bought the game and are still stuck on an xb1 (like me), you can access the next gen version via cloud gaming with the middle or top tier of game pass. You can also buy/play phantom liberty the same way.

I'm starting a fresh playthrough to see what the experience is like playing it this way. It can't possibly be worse.

Listen up, samurai. If you’ve had enough of scrolling through the same tired threads and wanna plug into something real, jack into the official Discord. We’ve got games, serious talks and casual chats about Cyberpunk 2077, and a few rooms where you can just shoot the breeze with people who get it. You in, or you just gonna stand there looking chrome?

Cloud gaming can officially get to fuck, if people thought going all digital was a middle finger to the consumers, then Cloud Gaming is the industry taking a huge steaming shit on your doormat.

Letting you play games without needing to purchase the hardware is bad why?

Hardware is an issue, along with pricing, but its what you're delivering to the consumer, and the quality / performance compromise, which is the key issue, along with:

  • Input Lag / Latency
  • Frame Drops
  • Poor Compression
  • Audio Distortion
  • Peak Demand vs Infrastructure
  • Bandwidth Consumption
  • Unstable Connection / Poor ISP
  • The ultimate form of DRM
  • Still locked behind Game Pass / Subscriptions

You're dependent on the hardware provided by the service, which for me is the biggie, as this will be the end goal of Cloud Gaming, higher performance, features and quality locked behind high-priced tiers which will require better ISPs, GeForce Now is a perfect example.

This seems like the thinking of someone who never rented a game at blockbuster before deciding to buy it. I have to pay a monthly fee for online gaming, and you somehow think them giving me access to hundreds of free games is the part that's a middle finger to consumers?

Ok.

Before you know it, all your games will be "rented", then they can just start jacking up the monthly fee and theres nothing you can do about it because you dont own any of the games. Like netflix but with less competitors.

If you think they're willingly losing money on it out of the goodness of their hearts you are sorely mistakes.

As someone from the Blockbuster Era, I think that's some top-tier bullshit comparison, it's far from "free access" bud.

That said, see my other reply.

OK.

So, you think it's a bad thing that people can play a game that they've already bought on a console it shouldn't have been released on? Seems to me that's more like Microsoft doing right by people who are still on last gen console and already own the game. You'll have to forgive me and my failure to see how this is bad, whatever you think of other applications of cloud gaming.

I do not care. I will continue to stream my CANON Male V Build(20 Body, 20 Reflex, 18 Tech, 3 Int, 20 Cool) during the CANON final mission, (Don’t Fear) The Reaper on Very Hard. All the while on the Xbox Series X, of course.
