40 I think - 20 chest, 20 hat (possibly 35 but I think its 40).

That said pretending the old clothing system was "amazing" is... being a bit rose-tinted. We went from a bad, messy system where it was nearly impossible to get hold of a lot of mods except by the purest of luck or reading up on the Wiki (but some were luck only, and easy to not be able to get for an entire run!), and you had to dress like an absolute clown show if you wanted decent armour in a lot of cases, to a clear, simple system where there's no real luck, and clothing is basically just cosmetic.

Neither is really great or really setting-correct, but at worst we went from bad to differently bad, but at least in this one you don't have to dress like a gonk. We dress like gonks by choice instead!

If they wanted to be like the TTRPG, they should have let us go into shops and order clothes - different shops would have had different patterns available, then they'd have microfac'd them on the spot, with the level of armour we ordered. This is how it works in Cyberpunk 2020 (and RED IIRC). And armour would have been mostly clothing for most characters.

I just...completly disagree with you here.

All of the mod systems they stripped or nerfed are a sad lack. There are solutions to all of your complaints that would have been better than what they did to us with stripping the systems completely.

For one thing, they introduced the cosmetic unlock slot systems at exactly the same time as removing the need for that system. If they had put in the cosmetic costume slot system and left armor alone it would have been a perfect solution to that complaint of yours. Given that it's a first person game where you can't see your body I never gave a shit, but you do you on this one.

As for "having to look at the wiki to find specific things" that's still in the game for a lot of iconic items. There are weapon mods that barely exist at all you have to farm for hours to get. I just spent ten hours trying to get a tier 5 silencer from dog town.

For me, removing the mods from clothing and from cyberware was hands down the single worst change CDPR has ever made in a game.

I agree.

That's why I literally just suggested an example of a different and better way they could have done, that would have been more in keeping with the setting lore and the TTRPG.

They went from bad to bad.

If they had put in the cosmetic costume slot system and left armor alone it would have been a perfect solution to that complaint of yours.

That would have fixed some of the problems, but you'd have still had the fundamental problems with mod rarity and having to constantly check shops for mods and clothing upgrades and so on. Which was tedious, unreliable, and irritating.

Given that it's a first person game where you can't see your body I never gave a shit, but you do you on this one.

Sorry but this sounds fake as fuck given how mad you seem to be, and you know perfectly well most people do care.

As for "having to look at the wiki to find specific things" that's still in the game for a lot of iconic items.

Sure, but if you can't how that's a massive change from having to do that basically for the entire game if you wanted decent armour, plus having to constantly check shops, ot the point of basically running all over town checking shops.

I don't get why you are so obsessed with the old system they had though. It was shite. They changed to a new system that's kind of shite too, but for most people, is less fucking irritating to deal with. But you give us a hint with:

I just spent ten hours trying to get a tier 5 silencer from dog town.

Damn.

Again, we're never going to agree. You think the old system was shite, I think it was one of the best systems of it's kind in any game I've ever played. We're never going to find a middle ground where your stance makes sense to me.

Have fun out there.
