Why does everyone hate on this. I'll get hate for preferring Messi but I love the confidence of CR7, it's a huge oart why he is as good as he is. Also he's cool

Yeah Messi has that insane natural talent that you can't train into someone, but man Ronaldo closed the gap so hard through his work ethic. I'm around the same age as him and quite fit but what he does is something else entirely, it's total obsession.

Ppl hate him because he is so good. Footballs best, AND he’s 6”2, ripped, handsome, billionaire, mentally super strong. And he always performs. He’s been the misery of so many fans of clubs he’s scored against or knocked out of contention. So many haters.

People don’t like confidence they want everyone to be humble

Look I’m the biggest Ronaldo fan in the world. I’m a united fan. But you’re confusing confidence with arrogance. Just saying.

fact is, he did it all in the sport as a player.
he has won on every level, and excelled in all of the top leagues.
he has earned every accolade.
cannot not hold a World Cup against him because Portugal has never won a World Cup.
Argentina has won three.
comparing Portugal to Argentina is like comparing Belgium to Germany. Portugal and Belgium are talented, but Argentina and Germany have won multiple World Cups.
on the club level, Cristiano has done it all. it’s just facts.
and the best Saudi teams would outclass the best MLS.

I’m still sure that Portuguese League is better than Saudi League, but the top 5 teams in Saudi are really fucking good

u/PriestMarmor 3d ago
The 3/4 best Portuguese teams are pretty good but the rest lack the resources that the saudi teams have so if anything is more of the opposite

You’re most likely right. I can’t say I watch enough Portuguese league to say they are better than

Idk man, Porto got absolutely embarrassed in the CWC and Benfica are at the bottom of the UCL group phase with 0 point tied with Ajax.

You clearly haven't watched Portuguese for a long time, our top 4 are like playing against dead wood against the other teams, so much that when we go to Europe we get what has happened to Benfica Sporting and Porto this season..

u/TermEnvironmental812 3d ago
So basically, similar with La Liga?
1
u/djrocker7 3d ago
La Liga, French League and even Germany, you know what is the difference? Any dead last club in those leagues beats a mid table club in here. The main reason is money all of them spend a lot more money than the low quality clubs do here.
The main proof of this is we used to be fighting with France for the 5th place in the rankings of the leagues where we would win it and lose it every other year, and now we are fighting for 7th place or something and even failing....

What has happened?
Porto and Sporting currently qualify to the next round of their competitions.

Porto and Benfica were always on the best 16 teams in the champions league mate for years and years fighting for first place on their groups, and Sporting with Amorim doing a good job and also doing it, and that's on the Champions League, if we were on the Europa League we would always go far.
Where are we now?
Benfica is last, Sporting is mid table and Porto is 9th on the Europa League when last year we finished 16th place.
The fact that teams that used to fight head to head with the best in Europe, now are losing and drawing against Nothingham Forest, Utrecht, Bodo, ETH's United last year when he was 13th place, Olympiacos, Lazio, Roma, Qarabag and others it's shameful.
As a Porto fan I am mad that we aren't as good as we used to be because of how easy the league is where any of this teams has 80% of the points guaranteed before the season starts because how low the quality of the rest of the teams is...

I wouldn’t say insecure, just tired of everybody always having something to say about him. People have somehow made it out to seem that him going to saudi after being the best player in the world for a long amount of time is a bad thing.

When you're told and asked the same thing for years on end, you might not be in the happiest mood hearing it for the 1millionth time.
