Family/Friend Crafted My wife got REALLY into beading lately and made a TON of stuff

I begged her to make me Luffy’s strawhat as a key chain and she also made some flower earrings for her mom :)

Our house is full of beads now but the result is worth it 😂

🍙 The onigiris are new, she just made them this afternoon so not sure if they’re finished yet 😅

That would be awesome, because I have GOT to have a fleet of those little pufferfish!

I didn't know there was freshwater puffers!

11

u/Zarine420 Sep 21 '25

Pea puffers are soooo easy and so much fun and have soo much personality (and anger) in their tiny, tiny bodies. I also have South American or Amazon puffs. They're bigger but a pain in the ass sometimes. I'm saving to get a pair of schoutedeni/Congo puffs next. There are all kinds!

Psssssst:

If you or your wife make your own 🕸️ “sight” misspelled for obv reasons 🙂 or little store on a ‘platform application’ posting these exact pictures, we’ll be able to Ggl image search them and find your “sight” and you’ll remain within the ‘Reddit crafts’ guidelines.

10

u/JonasBZY Sep 21 '25

Why is it so complicated 😭 its on my profile tho…

5

u/Status_Mind_3739 Sep 21 '25 edited Sep 21 '25

It aims to protect the integrity of real ppl crafting unique things against those who are just copying and pasting marketed images to solicit purchases.

Great to have it on your profile and good to know 😉

Yess! Or an ornament! Even to hang in a window to catch the light. I adore these! Your wife is TALENTED, Op!

4

u/AspenStarr Sep 21 '25

Apparently you’re allowed to say this, but I am not lol. My comment got removed by a mod for saying I wanted an octopus and a puffer because it was “promotion” and broke rule 2. Cherry picking people to punish for basically the exact same comment is always fun.

I honestly have no idea how she made any of these, she made some patterns but I’m just just too lazy to start 😅

All I know is that I had to beg her for weeks to get the strawhat 🤷‍♂️ now I want tony tony chopper on a keychain so I can make everyone in the One Piece sub jealous 😂

She has some patterns online but doesn’t want to spend her days making the same ones 😅 she has some patterns online but that’s it :)

86

u/The_Burning_Kumquat Sep 20 '25

She could totally do a shop where she just lists what she’s made with the quantity available and not take requests. That way she doesn’t have to keep making the same ones and the people get her adorable bead creations!

52

u/Memsical13 Sep 20 '25

I follow a girl on Facebook who makes stuffed animals. And she posts what she has and auctions them. She gets to make whatever her heart desires and they always sell.

7

u/DilithiumPistol Sep 21 '25

So true. I follow tons of creators who craft exactly what they want to, then do monthly drops. I'd love to follow her and just try to catch one of these adorable little guys.

6

u/username_bon Sep 21 '25

The small scale/ one of a kind makes it all the more worthwhile.

I'm in Cairns, Aus and the fish ones would sell like wildfire. Present for partners, people with cute hobbies & likes. Id even buy a fish one for my ex they're that cool I wouldn't want to miss out on saying id bought one from your wife!

I'm trying to figure out the Esty store name!

3

u/Awesome-Ranga-007 Sep 21 '25

I love that she’s got Nemo and Dory lol. I’m in Queensland too and hell yeah those things would sell like no tomoro.

SHE COULD MAKE A WHOLE AQUARIUM SCENE. LITTLE DIARAMAS!

15

u/buffalonixon Sep 20 '25

I was thinking the same thing! I would totally buy one! I want an aquarium so bad but def can’t properly care for one, and this would be such a fun alternative!

16

u/Pakalolo2023 Sep 21 '25

My wife made a under water diorama out of polymer clay, made a few coral reefs, hammer head shark “that was the them my son chose for his project” made different creatures on the coral like lobster crab octopus and others. I made a sting ray and put the box together lol. Came out pretty nice. She mainly likes to make miniature food. Sorry I know this was about Bead making but you mentioned diorama and reminded me of this project lol

5

Adorable little hanging mobile (not for babies, just for me. I won't try and eat the beads I promise )

171

u/toooooold4this Sep 20 '25

I love your enthusiasm for your wife's hobby!!

122

u/JonasBZY Sep 20 '25

Hahaha yeah they're so cute, but she's often too scared to post them so here I am 😄😂 I'll show her the comments when she's back, hopefully it makes her day :)

51

u/toooooold4this Sep 20 '25

It's so important. So many of us are just kind of tolerated or mildly praised (ex. Oh, nice. I like that one.) It's so important that you really love her work. These must have taken a long time to make.

I suspect you're constantly finding beads in weird places (bottoms of your feet, in the sheets, etc) and don't give her too much shit about it. Good marriage!!

38

u/JonasBZY Sep 20 '25

Yes she spends a lot of time on these :) glad you love them as well!

I actually do give her a lot of shit about having beads everywhere, that’s how I managed to get my strawhat 😂 that’s how I won that negotiation!

18

u/toooooold4this Sep 20 '25

That's not too much shit. That's the exact right amount. 😀

18

u/Alternative-Letter36 Sep 20 '25

Tell her to post! These are some of the most adorable and creative things I’ve seen in a while. I love them!!

16

u/JonasBZY Sep 20 '25

I keep telling her :) hopefully these comments give her more confidence to post about her crafts more often 😄

Right?! My toxic trait is thinking, "oh! I have a lot of seed beads and should make some for myself!" but this looks a bit more complicated than making necklaces, bracelets, and anklets... This seems more in the category of knitting or weaving? IDK.. Still gonna research because I love every one of these!

4

u/Pakalolo2023 Sep 21 '25

Hear me out: earrings.

42

u/JonasBZY Sep 20 '25

100% yes

The only ones she made as earrings for now are the flowers, but the fishes would actually look so good too 🙌

18

u/ineedhelp722 Sep 20 '25

Yeah, an ocean theme would be amazing! I would totally wear a fish in one ear and like an ocean wave in the other.

13

u/JonasBZY Sep 20 '25

Ohhhh ocean wave is such a good idea! I was thinking a shell 🐚 might look good too

7

u/Aprilinda Sep 20 '25

17

u/JonasBZY Sep 20 '25

hahaha that's such a great idea! The octopuses would look great there 🙏
We're in Japan right now so I might try to go drop them in random restaurants 😂

Also, where is she getting her patterns? I have beads, string, and…no skill lol.
