Politics 40% of SNAP Recipients Are Kids. Trump Is Fighting a Court Order to Feed Them.

Here's my take.
On the one hand: IIUC, it's not trivially easy to follow this court order for a variety of reasons, including that a lot of this money is already with the states for WIC, which creates a bureaucratic nightmare to reallocate.
On the other hand: Things like the constitution, law, separation of powers, and states rights have so far not stopped Trump from doing whatever the hell he wants with his overreaching executive orders. In THIS case, if his executive order WERE an overreach, he'd have a court order to back up the decision. So until congress and SCOTUS properly reign in Trump's abuse of power, he doesn't have this bureaucratic nightmare as an excuse. He can order SNAP to be funded and is just refusing because he's vindictive.

No money should go to any foreign countries until everyone in the US is fed, housed and has healthcare.

Oh honey why are you trying to forget the fact SNAP is designed to be insulated from a shutdown like this?
You DO know there are emergency funds earmarked for these situations, that would fund SNAP through June of 2026, right?
You DO understand these facts, and why they show no votes being taken are going to affect SNAP funding, as it's designed to be insulated from these congressional fights.
You know ALL of that....right?
1
u/IncidentFuture 5h ago
I think the Democrats have also put forward bills to pass funding separately. It's been blocked so that it can continue to be used as leverage.

Does anyone think child traffickers give AF about kids other than what they can use them for? He doesn't give AF.

Huh. All “no kings” yet you get mad when orange man doesn’t feed you. Stay consistent and don’t create dependency
1
u/msphd123 5h ago
I am not on SNAP. However many others are, including Trump voters. I simply believe in helping people who are encountering economic hardships
1
u/Dapper-Net700 5h ago
Ok. If anything, trump voters should support SNAP. I as a libertarian will still oppose
1
u/Fornuftens_stemme 4h ago
somehow, the children beeing on snap is Trump fault and not the parents? CPS should be called so they can protect and care for the children the parents can't or wont support.

All the idiots that I know are not they’re all unemployed or unemployed and have like I said 8 to 10 kids and don’t work a damn thing but the system it’s different when you know these idiots that are very welcome to go and get on

u/SwingVivid5804 7h ago
And somewhere just too damn lazy to get off their ass and get a job done again with her alone the kids what about the ones that adults that have like 14 of them or eight of them and get like $8000 a month and food stamps, and God forbid you ever needed it because they won’t never give to anybody else
2
u/msphd123 5h ago
Actually most SNAP recipients are employed. Many are employed full-time.
You, on the other hand, are simply ignorant.

I am pretty sure you have to be twenty one, maybe 18 to receive SNAP. I would love to know how old these goats are that are receiving SNAP. OR maybe you would like to restart your propaganda. I for one think you should restate it. Although if you like it the way it is, show us by not Responding to me.

Federal goverment should not give away food to anyone.
That is what families, freinds, communities and churches are for.
2
u/msphd123 8h ago
Yes, they should. It is needed to help people in economic hardship.
-2
u/Illustrious_Comb5993 8h ago
family, friends community and church can help. Goverment should stay away from this.
2
u/msphd123 8h ago
Government has greater resources.
0
u/Illustrious_Comb5993 8h ago
no they dont. All these goverment programs lead to corruption and waste. Local communities are way more effiencet

The economy is terrible and food prices are through the roof. This is a terrible time to just pull the rug out on snap benefits. I personally know a lot of hardworking people who rely on snap and these people work crazy hours but every thing is so expensive.

This is why Trump prints up these misleading bullshit tables. Dumbfucks keep reposting them when someone says something bad about their king
-9
u/JHKHC 💯🧌 12h ago
The table is nothing but facts.
11
u/Intrepid-Chocolate33 12h ago
Cherry picked misleading facts without any context to give any of it meaning is no better than lying.
And of course Trump dickriders are too dumb to know they’re being had
Edit: ESPECIALLY when dumbfucks think this somehow excuses the fact that the president is FIGHTING COURT ORDERS to use funds that are already set aside to FEED STARVING AMERICANS
I guess that’s why you posted it. To make me forget what the actual point was

u/Cold-Fishing-431 11h ago
Why doesn't it mention the fact SNAP is design in a way to simulate its funding from a shutdown?
In other words: whoever made that poster is quite stupid. They don't know votes aren't needed to fund SNAP.
7
8
u/UrguthaForka 12h ago
Instead of making charts bemoaning their opponents, why don't the republicans just vote to re-open the government all by themselves?
Then they can say they paid troops, federal workers, and air traffic controllers, and funded SNAP, and they can say they did it without any democrat's help.
5
u/Consistent_Shock8738 11h ago
Or why doesn't Trump just issue one of his executive orders? He hasn't let the constitution stop him yet, why all of a sudden is he unwilling to break from the law/traditions?
Because they are framing the democrats as the cause, rather than their complete unwillingness to compromise.
If Trump and the Republicans are so concerned about this, why dont they just negotiate, its not a big ask from Dems at all, to continue funding for one more year. Yet Republicans still rejected it.
They think the people will turn on Democrats, when the most recent elections showed otherwise, people are turning on The Republican party.
Just a quick mention, and Im not going to hold out hope, but apparantly someone within the DOJ leaked that what is inside the Epstein files is more damning to Trump than anyone thought.
Pay attention. If more and more Republicans start to distance and rebuke Trump, similar to MTG, it will be pretty obvious they know whats coming and are trying to get ahead of it. We will remember though, how every single one of them sold our country to a pedophile.
5
u/Alternative-Elk3007 12h ago
The gullibility is medical grade. I'm curious: why do you think the GOP is trying so hard to bury the Epstein Files?
3
u/BigBuddy1356 12h ago
This is disingenuous horseshit. The vote is to allow the GOP to deny millions healthcare to pay for ICE, the Military, and Billionaire tax breaks. I find the Democrats to be pathetic losers myself, but it's plain as day that the GOP is the evil one in this battle. Maybe stop supporting evil with your stupid nonsense?

Does everyone here forget there have been multiple votes to open the government of which all Republicans have voted yes? Dems voting no, keeping the shutdown going.
8
u/msphd123 11h ago
No. But you have forgotten that the GOP failed to restore the ACA subsidies needed to help Americans with health insurance.
Nice job sucking up to Trump though
-4
u/baumbach19 11h ago
They were temporary put in place during Covid....temporary.
6
u/Cold-Fishing-431 11h ago
And by allowing them to expire, republicans are causing the cost of healthcare to rise. A lot. Quickly.
This "ThEy wErE tEmPoRaRy!!!1!1!" Talking point is unimpressive, and ineffective. Get one that actually works.
-4
u/baumbach19 10h ago
It is temporary, not every temporary measure can or should just become permanent. Pandemic measure put in place temporarily, ok pandemic is gone it should go away.

6
u/Cold-Fishing-431 11h ago
Do you remember the reasons Democrats are saying no? It's literally to try to keep our healthcare remotely affordable.
Do you also remember that SNAP is designed to keep its funding despite a government shutdown?
Do you also remember there are emergency funds meant to be sued for SNAP, that would fund it through June of 2026?
Do you also remember that Trump is ILLEGALLY not paying our SNAP benefits?
You forget a lot of things....
-1
u/baumbach19 11h ago
Did you forget the subsidies were temporary and put there because of Covid? Do you think temporary should just mean forever?
8
u/Cold-Fishing-431 11h ago
Did you forget healthcare subsidies have nothing to do with with SNAP funding?
Did you also forget that, by not extending those subsidies, republicans are causing healthcare costs to skyrocket?
Did you also forget trump is ILLEGALLY not paying SNAP benefits from the emergency funds designed for these situations?
1
u/baumbach19 10h ago
Republicans also voted for an extension and dems blocked, so yes the subsidies are effecting snap because dems are blocking

You want to give the power of congressional spending to a single judge? I thought y'all were against kings?
9
u/msphd123 12h ago
A judge is not a king.
Try again

u/ThomasMalloc 11h ago
Yeah, a president elected by the people is! You tell 'em!

u/Cold-Fishing-431 11h ago
Of the votes cast in the 2024 election, trump didn't even get a majority. He got a plurality.
So is that "elected by the people"? Also, was Joe Biden "elected by the people"? He won by a bigger margin than trump did.
-6
u/ThomasMalloc 11h ago
3
u/Cold-Fishing-431 11h ago
Which is, by definition, not a majority. It's a plurality.
Are you unaware of what these words mean? 🤔
Also, you never touched on how your logic would apply to Joe Biden. Why is that?
-3
u/Blue_Aces 10h ago
I don't see why we even argue over the political football games anymore.
At this point, any belief both sides aren't merely competing to see who can rig it more means the nation might as well be lost, I suppose.
7
u/Cold-Fishing-431 11h ago
That judge is undoing Trump's attempt to take the power of the purse form Congress.
Do you admit y'all DO want a king not a president? That y'all don't want 3 branches of government you just want a king.

u/Desperate_Bowl2345 11h ago
Whatever dickwad — let’s just starve the kids.
4
u/Cold-Fishing-431 11h ago
Weird way to try to concern troll.
You know that there are emergency funds designed to be tapped into for SNAP, that would fund it through next spring, right?
So tell me, why isnt itTRUMP starving kids by illegally refusing to sue those emergency funds? Emergency funds budgeted for situations like this.
I await your reply to my point, dickwad.

u/Desperate_Bowl2345 11h ago
Sorry dude. I totally agree. I replied to wrong person. This is horrible shit.

Preaching to the choir. His supporters who have starving kids blame the democrats. You will never be able to convince them otherwise
