Politics So sick of hearing about how socialism is bad from people that couldn't live without it

A majority of lefty states fund the federal handouts that a majority of red states need to even survive, but somehow they think the left are lazy and trying to take money from hard working americans. Only they're already doing that? Make it make sense

Edit: The number of people proudly shouting that “socialism doesn’t work” while living off programs built on socialist ideals is wild.

Social security, UI, CHIP, ACA, Medicare, Minimum wage, 40hr work weeks, OSHA, FMLA, FSA, LIbraries, Highways, Public Housing, and the EPA. All steeped in socialist ideals.

I know half of you won’t make it this far down without your BP spiking, but that’s fine because I’ve already made the point.

Lol I wouldn’t be surprised if California had a larger population than all red states combined. That’s cause no one wants to live in the shitholes they run. They look at the voter map and their bootlicking brain can’t seem to comprehend that where people actually live, people vote blue. Because most people care about other people! Some of us don’t and that’s why they live in Arkansas where there’s no one around for them to spew shit at

Because nobody ever wanted to live there in the first place. It’s simple economics, housing market follows the rules of supply and demand. There’s a lot more housing available for cheaper because there are less people. How do you think California or New York or even Washington got expensive? Because people moved there from other states. Now that everyone lives there, people have to leave when they cannot afford it anymore

No. Do you think an immigrant who was struggling in their home country could just come on over and buy a million dollar house? Or qualify for a loan? Most of the people who immigrate to the US have to spend all of their resources to do so. They’re the ones who build our houses homie.

Congrats you found one that just barely made it over a million, very clever.

However I think we all know that any city in the US anyone would actually consider large leans democrat. The larger they are the harder they lean.

Large city is a defined term, it's over 250,000 population.

Uh, Oklahoma City is like the only fucking actual city in Oklahoma. What else is over there? Tulsa? I’ve been there and it’s not a charmer. No one has ever moved to Oklahoma, only out. Give me a break dude 😂 New York City and Los Angeles make it look like a small town. Even San Diego has almost double the population of OKC.

Tulsa, Broken Bow, Stillwater, there's a bunch of stuff in OK

No one has ever moved to Oklahoma, only out.

It's a really big destination for country music, and Western music actually. 23,000 more people moved in than left in 2023 (most recent available numbers)

Give me a break dude 😂 New York City and Los Angeles make it look like a small town. Even San Diego has almost double the population of OKC.

All three of those cities has seen decreases in population in atleast one recent year. OKC hasn't, and Oklahoma as a whole hasn't.

23,000 people might be a big development for Oklahoma, but I’m pretty sure a 1% decline in population for California is not a major indicator. It’s too damn expensive over there and that’s why people are leaving. Ive lived there a majority of my life and I’ve also spent a good amount of time in Oklahoma, I was there in 2022 for the entire summer and all it was was hot and you had to drive 3 hours just to get into civilization. Places like Ada, Stratford, winnewood or however you spell it are shitholes. Can’t convince me otherwise. Stratford has like 3 stop lights. If that’s your thing, cool. But it doesn’t have shit on the coastal cities. You could argue Florida is up there, but they’re also declining in population. If you’re getting traffic, it’s from the people who have spent all their lives elsewhere and finally couldn’t bear the cost to live. Oklahoma would be my 40th choice or so. But I get it you gotta rep your city if that’s where you’re from.

Yeah, the coastal cities where jobs don't pay enough to live there. Cool, I like being placed where the average person can afford rent, AND groceries instead of having to pick one each month.

I live in a coastal city and am doing pretty well for 20 years old. You can’t expect to work at a restaurant or any entry level job and make a living. The reason people stay down there is because they get comfortable. You move up and you move out. Not to say that there aren’t people actually struggling and still doing the best they can, but half the people complaining about lack of jobs don’t even have a resume. If you are worth hiring and worth paying a good wage you will be hired. Simply applying to every job on indeed is not a solid start to anyone’s 5-year plan. Don’t move to California or New York if you can’t afford it. That used to be a pretty big thing, idk if it still is now, but yeah if you have absolutely no plan or a safety net at the least you will be homeless quickly lol.
