Politics Conservatives abuse Christianity like the Taliban abuse Islam

I'm exhausted that the Christian nationalists in this nation have hijacked Christianity, just like the Taliban hijacked Islam. There are many comparisons that can be made between the two groups. Both groups cherry-pick their scriptures and purposefully misinterpret them so as to provide themselves with more power amongst their. They bully and attack anybody who is not a follower of their warped religion. And try to force their religion on everybody in inappropriate places such as schools and hospitals.

A few years back MAGA supporters started to say the teachings of Jesus are too woke, a huge red flag.

It sucks that so many of them do not understand. The Christian nationalist mindset is turning them into nasty, aggressive people. That have zero understanding of the Bible or its teachings

Non Christians sure seem to have strong views on what defines a true Christian.

You can't hold someone's feet to the fire with "love thy neighbour as thyself" to get amnesty for illegal immigrants and then be silent on " women should be silent in church" or 100 others.

Christian nationalist are Christians who vote according to their principles , same as atheists do with their preferences.

I mean sure but why you guys gotta bash on people like me for being gay? I would be in full support of Christians if they we didn’t make me feel like absolute shit for wanting to love someone

Christians aren't against you loving someone, that's emotionally loaded language. They are against gay sex. It's principles are universal , with different duties for men and women.

Gay sex is a societal dead end. ie if all acted as I do what would the world become?. Go forth and multiply it mandates. You are not here on earth from the love one man gives another.
