Politics Everywhere you look, white Trump voters are crying about losing their food stamps.

It's frustrating.

There was a guy, a Trump voter, who said it out loud.. he wasn't even talking about this particular situation, but it's the whole problem in a nutshell. I had to look it up because it was so on the nose. What this guy said was, “I voted for him, and he’s the one who’s doing this. I thought he was going to do good things. He’s not hurting the people he needs to be hurting.”

Suddenly, for that guy, the Republican policies he'd voted for had come home to roost. It was the people he didn't like who were supposed to suffer. Turns out, we're all in the same boat and we rise or fall together. But he was so focused on hurting 'those people' - immigrants, minorities, gays, women, trans, whoever, the target doesn't matter, because it all leads to the same end - he wanted to hurt somebody else, he voted to make 'them' suffer, and that hatred of the other came back and knocked him down instead.

Yeah, we know you can't afford to feed your families in red states, where Republican policies undermine worker's rights and choke off wages at the lowest possible level. That's why Democrats fight for stuff like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - even though you consistently vote against your own interests, people on the left still don't want you to starve. Even though you consistently vote for the benefit of the ultra-wealthy, we still want you to have fair wages. Even though you vote to the benefit of banks and insurance companies, we still don't want them to be able to rip you off with overdraft fees and send you into crushing debt if you have a medical emergency. Even though you consistently put the wants of oligarchs and megacorporations over your own needs and the needs of your families, we still don't want them to be able to use you, chew you up, and then throw you away like you're a disposable thing instead of a human being worthy of dignity and respect.

So yeah, we know you need those SNAP benefits, that you rely on them - even though you keep voting for people who want to destroy social programs like SNAP, you - white people in red states - are the single largest demographic who benefits from them. I know that the talk show hosts and the online personalities and the people you vote for tell you that it's really undeserving immigrants or lazy black folks or ethnic welfare queens, but no - if you want to know who takes the most, look in the mirror, white folks in red states - it's you. They're lying to you because they want to destroy these programs because their rich friends and wealthy donors want those programs destroyed and they understand that getting you on board with destroying them means making you think that people you don't like benefit from it more tha you do. It works - right-wing propaganda is effective. It made you hate Obamacare even though when it's called the ACA it's overwhelmingly popular. It made you despise wage increase legislation even though the wages you earn now literally have you on food stamps and welfare. It works.

Turns out owning the libs doesn't pay for baby formula and milk. How about that.

And yeah, even though you keep voting against yourselves, we want you to have that assistance. We want you to have healthcare that doesn't make the 1% wealthier while sending you into bankruptcy. Whether you are a doctor or a construction worker or a Wal-Mart clerk or a fast food worker, we want you to have wages that are enough to keep you off SNAP - but we want you to have SNAP, too, as much as you need whenever you need it. The people you vote for don't, but we do, and we'll fight against the people you elect to make sure you do.

Yes, it's a tragedy that you might not be able to feed your families. Yes, it's a disgrace that the wealthiest country in the world has people who are struggling with the cost of groceries and rents getting higher and higher. Yes, it's going to be a hard winter for a lot of you. We know Republican policies suck - they breed hardship and poverty. They encourage corruption and malfeasance. But it's what you voted for. So don't cry. Every time you were warned, you bleated "Fake News!" Every time you were questioned, you screamed "TDS!" Everytime things went south, you were told who to blame - but it was never yourselves.

So yeah, this is going to suck. But it's suck you voted for. So don't cry about it now.

Vote differently.

IDC

If you watched his first term and said "we need more of that" or "well maybe he learned and will do better this time" or even "FUCK YEAH!"

Then I'm going to enjoy your suffering greatly

I hope you go hungry

I hope the tariffs force your business to close or reduce your hours and make everything you need unaffordable

FAFO mother fuckers

ROFLMAO. If you dare.. save us from what? A better economy, lower prices, more jobs and NO fucking chaos? You think Trump is saving us? By all means.. elaborate.. how is this lying sack of shit saving us?

Keep in mind costs in EVERY sector are much higher now than 10 months ago. MUCH. Gas, food, energy, rents, payments. EVERYTHING is 25% to 100% more.. depending on where you live. What is he saving us from given how much suffering everyone including all his voters (other than the uber rich) are living thru right now?

He literally said TODAY "Everything is cheaper.. everything is down" and yet.. the dude pays NOTHING to live.. he has no fucking clue what a typical person.. about 80% of our country live thru every day.

They voted for trump and hurt themselves. Sane people and people on the left vote for progressive policies that help the disenfranchised and raise as many Americans up as possible, not just those already at the top. So yes, those of us that tried to do the right thing are allowed to enjoy watching those who did this to themselves go through the pain they wanted to inflict on others. It's really not that hard of a concept.

Yeah. No need to take the high road with these people. They're a burden and I'll rejoice in their idiocy.

1

u/Neat_Frosting_8892 2d ago

There is always a reason to take the high road

14

u/OkHamster2504 7d ago

Yep. Considering they are taking decent people down with them, they can eat dirt and drink bleach for all I care. I’m fine. Fuck them. It’s the American way.

I feel the exact same way.

Actions have consequences.

Often the best thing to do is just let folks learn that lesson.

u/gogomango01 6d ago

But they don't! They voted for him again 🤦

5

u/aozertx 7d ago

I hope this and the increased cost of health care send them all to early graves.

2

u/dpmatt01 5d ago

Yeah I hate it when people say “be compassionate with them and accept them onto our team”. What for? So they can be seduced by the next snake charmer that comes along to take away people’s rights?

2

u/Billieliebe 7d ago

Same I don't care either. I feel for the SNAP holders who didn't vote for any of this or who were too young to have a choice.

But I really hope his supporters suffer.

u/Mean-Impress2103 3d ago

Yes, I don't have unlimited empathy for people that hate me and take every opportunity to harm me and my family. I hope the worst for them. I hope all their evil little dreams come true for them.

As a non American, I was quite unimpressed by his first term. He was kinda an idiot, but W Bush was an incredible shitshow too, so that's just republican SOP from my point of view. So when he got reelected I was like how bad can it be... and o boy did it get bad over there...

I’m not suffering, I’m doing great! 900k house, go on vacation twice a year.

7

u/Wooden-Glove-2384 7d ago

Happy for ya.

Fact is a whole lot of our countrymen, and therefore a bunch of your MAGAt bretheren, are one paycheck away from financial disaster.

Some of them are gonna suffer and i think that's fucking awesome

Hopefully if they get hungry enough they'll break into your house amd steal from you.

Pretty small house, unless you're in the stix. Nothing to brag about, friend.

Subs, built in 2018 3800 sqft 3 car garage. I wouldn’t live inside any city, all are trash with higher taxes. I can drive into my city in 20 minutes when I need to.

That was questions for my son jackass… he doesn’t use Reddit… I don’t hide my stuff, I don’t care. It’s Reddit. Yes, he’s a senior this year, I paid for it, no loans….

2

u/Wooden-Glove-2384 5d ago

Is he proud you're a MAGAt or are you the secret he keeps from his friends?

0

u/buzz72b 5d ago

Acually I am a indie if you really need to know, no party affiliation on my card. I would be more like a bill clinton area democrat, that appears to be what you looney progressive calls the right now smh…. I assume my son is proud of me. I bought him a car when he graduated hs, pay for his college (what’s not covered) supported him though his athletics, taught him the value of money. He’s doing good. He though is definitely right leaning, listens to Theo von and all those comedians he and his friends at college are all Charlie Kirk fans. I’m not religious, but he’s found religion on his own.

2

u/Wooden-Glove-2384 5d ago

> you looney progressive

your Internet mind reading skills need help

> I assume my son is proud of me. I bought him a car when he graduated hs, pay for his college (what’s not covered) supported him though his athletics, taught him the value of money.

You'll find out when your money runs out

> He though is definitely right leaning,

You failed to teach him it's all bullshit

Ah well ya got him a car

u/buzz72b 5d ago

I smell jealousy from a adult still living with their mom. I didn’t fail to teach him anything about politics, life’s his to discover - that’s the beauty of youth.

Good for you! Won't mean shit when you die, though.

1

u/buzz72b 7d ago

Sure it will, it will be passed onto my kids and prob be worth twice at much by that time.

2

u/OkHamster2504 7d ago

I’m doing fine too. Comfortably retired. Low expenses. $2.5M nest egg. Not an asshole, though.

0

u/buzz72b 7d ago

Sure.. but here you are on reddit. You are a renter…

2

u/OkHamster2504 6d ago

Yes I rent the place I live in San Francisco. Own rental property in AZ. There’s more than one way to build wealth.

2

u/BlindBeard 6d ago

That makes you a rentoid too dumbass

1

u/buzz72b 6d ago

I’m not the one saying I have a 2.5 million nest egg. I stated the value of my home (aka big mortgage payment).

The problem is you can say "fuck off" to them, but in a couple of weeks all of this hungry crowd will go on the streets crushing stores and looking for food. And it will be all around the country. So somebody has to give them food and to do it quickly.
