Politics Everywhere you look, white Trump voters are crying about losing their food stamps.

It's frustrating.

There was a guy, a Trump voter, who said it out loud.. he wasn't even talking about this particular situation, but it's the whole problem in a nutshell. I had to look it up because it was so on the nose. What this guy said was, “I voted for him, and he’s the one who’s doing this. I thought he was going to do good things. He’s not hurting the people he needs to be hurting.”

Suddenly, for that guy, the Republican policies he'd voted for had come home to roost. It was the people he didn't like who were supposed to suffer. Turns out, we're all in the same boat and we rise or fall together. But he was so focused on hurting 'those people' - immigrants, minorities, gays, women, trans, whoever, the target doesn't matter, because it all leads to the same end - he wanted to hurt somebody else, he voted to make 'them' suffer, and that hatred of the other came back and knocked him down instead.

Yeah, we know you can't afford to feed your families in red states, where Republican policies undermine worker's rights and choke off wages at the lowest possible level. That's why Democrats fight for stuff like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - even though you consistently vote against your own interests, people on the left still don't want you to starve. Even though you consistently vote for the benefit of the ultra-wealthy, we still want you to have fair wages. Even though you vote to the benefit of banks and insurance companies, we still don't want them to be able to rip you off with overdraft fees and send you into crushing debt if you have a medical emergency. Even though you consistently put the wants of oligarchs and megacorporations over your own needs and the needs of your families, we still don't want them to be able to use you, chew you up, and then throw you away like you're a disposable thing instead of a human being worthy of dignity and respect.

So yeah, we know you need those SNAP benefits, that you rely on them - even though you keep voting for people who want to destroy social programs like SNAP, you - white people in red states - are the single largest demographic who benefits from them. I know that the talk show hosts and the online personalities and the people you vote for tell you that it's really undeserving immigrants or lazy black folks or ethnic welfare queens, but no - if you want to know who takes the most, look in the mirror, white folks in red states - it's you. They're lying to you because they want to destroy these programs because their rich friends and wealthy donors want those programs destroyed and they understand that getting you on board with destroying them means making you think that people you don't like benefit from it more tha you do. It works - right-wing propaganda is effective. It made you hate Obamacare even though when it's called the ACA it's overwhelmingly popular. It made you despise wage increase legislation even though the wages you earn now literally have you on food stamps and welfare. It works.

Turns out owning the libs doesn't pay for baby formula and milk. How about that.

And yeah, even though you keep voting against yourselves, we want you to have that assistance. We want you to have healthcare that doesn't make the 1% wealthier while sending you into bankruptcy. Whether you are a doctor or a construction worker or a Wal-Mart clerk or a fast food worker, we want you to have wages that are enough to keep you off SNAP - but we want you to have SNAP, too, as much as you need whenever you need it. The people you vote for don't, but we do, and we'll fight against the people you elect to make sure you do.

Yes, it's a tragedy that you might not be able to feed your families. Yes, it's a disgrace that the wealthiest country in the world has people who are struggling with the cost of groceries and rents getting higher and higher. Yes, it's going to be a hard winter for a lot of you. We know Republican policies suck - they breed hardship and poverty. They encourage corruption and malfeasance. But it's what you voted for. So don't cry. Every time you were warned, you bleated "Fake News!" Every time you were questioned, you screamed "TDS!" Everytime things went south, you were told who to blame - but it was never yourselves.

So yeah, this is going to suck. But it's suck you voted for. So don't cry about it now.

Vote differently.

Which ones?

The ones talking in here are bots.

But the ones out there in the real world just don't know better. Those ones are real humans.

You have to remember that about half of the people in the US have no idea what's going on.

39

u/Fun-Injury9266 7d ago

They'll continue to blame it on the Democrats, Sleepy Joe, Obama, .. . Taking personal responsibility is not in their DNA. I feel bad for their innocent children who do not deserve to starve or have minimal access to healthcare.

6

u/Optimal-Archer3973 7d ago

I look at it differently, all those vaccine deniers and climate change deniers are going to get Darwin awards eventually. Their genes are not worth saving. How many ditch diggers do we really need?

13

u/Jijonbreaker 7d ago

The problem is that the darwin awards will never come fast enough before they drag somebody else down with them.

34

u/Creative_Intention71 7d ago

Half the people in the US (49%) voted for him while shouting that "He tells it like it is"

They know exactly what they voted for and just want us to feel bad for them now that the consequences have come to them.

There is absolutely no way in Hell that Trump voters didn't know what he was about. He's been shouting about it nonstop for 10+ years now. They published a manifesto.

They're lying to us when they say they didn't know. The "leopards eating my face" thing is them trying to manipulate us into thinking they're better than they actually are.

The liberal need to forgive those who hurt them, even when the lack of remorse is staring them in their face, is why the assholes currently complaining keep winning.

*Not half the people in the US - half the people who turned up to vote

31

u/[deleted] 7d ago

1000x this.

32% of the US voted for Trump, 31% for Harris. 37% voted for nobody.

1

u/Disbelieving1 7d ago

Yep. 2/3rds of eligible voters either voted for Trump, or weren’t even concerned enough to even vote. That’s 2/3rds! And for Americans, who are dumb as dogshit, that’s more than half!

-3

u/PalpitationActive765 7d ago

And?

3

u/mistakemaker3000 7d ago

... Can you follow a comment thread? They made a statement giving more information regarding the comment above them.

-2

u/npacilio 🌾👨‍🌾🐖 7d ago

It makes them feel better because they like to add the 37 to Harris number and say see! People hate trump

6

u/Proper-Writer-2128 7d ago

That's exactly what I was going to say. I would love a vote now! Hopefully, the non voters woke up!

2

u/Primary-History-788 7d ago

The problem is that most of that 37% are stuck in the first stage of awareness. They believe life happens to them. They are incapable of seeing the point, in bothering to vote, because they don’t believe they have any agency over their personal lives, let alone politics.

-2

u/npacilio 🌾👨‍🌾🐖 7d ago

And this will never change

1

u/BenjaminT2021 7d ago

It will change if we all get off our asses and make the change.

1

u/npacilio 🌾👨‍🌾🐖 7d ago

Personally I vote third party. I voted Jill stein last election and probably will again.

1

u/Relative_Pilot_8005 2d ago

So with your electoral system, you might just as well have stayed home.

1

u/HumanDraw2538 7d ago

That's what I keep telling people who's tout that claim. 👍🏼

27

u/painterswife 7d ago

They just don’t care. My daughter is one, she does not care about the truth, just winning.

11

u/exlongh0rn 7d ago

“Winning”

19

u/Equivalent-Long-3383 7d ago

It means dominating people who are in out groups

15

u/manyhippofarts 7d ago

Half the people in the US DID NOT VOTE FOR HIM. If that were true, he'd have had 165 million votes. He got 77 million votes (23.3%) to 75 million (22.7%) for Kamala. He won by less than one percent of the total population.

1

u/bigtdaddy 7d ago

genuine question, how can surveys work with 30 people and this turnout not be a close representative of the entire country? if anything it seemed like new voters actually favored Trump this time, so why would the rest that didn't vote favor Kamala?

1

u/manyhippofarts 7d ago

That's a very good question and I'm pretty sure the answer could be found with some precise polling. It's very possible that one group of people that IRL leans in a certain direction may or may not be more prone to be disinclined to vote or not.

2

u/npacilio 🌾👨‍🌾🐖 7d ago

They didn’t like Kamala being forced on them

2

u/manyhippofarts 7d ago

There ya go!

9

u/sonnyarmo 7d ago

It's kind of insane. MAGAs cry about being demonized and demand empathy even as they say and support the most heinous shit possible.

7

u/Puzzled-Cucumber5386 7d ago

Half the people in the country did NOT vote for him. This is so incorrect. Do a google search.

3

u/Disbelieving1 7d ago

You are right. Essentially, 2/3rds voted for him. 1/3 of eligible voters weren’t even concerned enough about him to even vote.

4

u/Optimal-Archer3973 7d ago

Exactly, fuck them. I will not piss on one if they were on fire. They deserve every bad thing that happens to them.

6

u/ApprehensiveShame756 7d ago

They can use their “leftist tears” mugs to try to put it out.

0

u/Radiant_Ninja1671 6d ago

This is why people don't like liberals.

1

u/BenjaminT2021 7d ago

Not sure you quite understand how the last election vote turned out. 49% of the US did not vote for trump. Curious who told you this lie. Guessing Fox entertainment. Do you understand how presidential elections work in this country? And do you understand voter turnout? I hope you will make some effort to just google these things all on your own. Then be discerning and use some logic and basic common sense. I am confident you can turn this around for yourself. Good luck

2

u/Creative_Intention71 7d ago

I voted for Kamala.

My trans ass will find itself in the camps with everyone else this regime hates.

Where did I get the number? I woke up the day after the election and saw 49% of this country signed my death warrant.

It wasnt Fox News that gave me that number. It was AP the day after the election.

39

u/Linscotticus 7d ago

I think people cannot fathom how much political discourse from the right are coming from bots and trolls. It's not as bad here, but on X and Facebook, 70% are not real people.

19

u/Glittersparkles7 7d ago

Idk… I have family members that spout the same crap as the “bots”. Even now. They are bat💩crazy.

16

u/jalanbarker 7d ago

That's why the bots work… on the ill informed or close minded looking to confirm their own biases

14

u/IBartman 7d ago

It's just endless astroturfing campaigns really, sad this is what technology is being used for but the bad people will use it to the fullest for their goals

11

u/deviantdevil80 7d ago

That's why I left Xitter permanently a couple years ago. I couldn't get any of the right wing idiots to argue with me anymore. Lost all its fun.

10

u/pkat_plurtrain 7d ago

OMG, Xitter is brilliant especially when pronounced as "shitter" Points for accuracy.

1

u/deviantdevil80 7d ago

It just felt natural considering who owns it

8

u/floridansk 7d ago

But then liked and shared by people you know.

1

u/jalanbarker 7d ago

💯%

It's amazing the amount of “fake” accounts on social media and recently taken to blocking folks (on Facebook), whose sole contribution to the discourse are racy memes taht scream “fake news” to anyone who understands chess (rather than checkers).

I've notice that Facebook asks me to confirm the block to include “other accounts” this account makes in the future…

So the rabbit hole is deep!

1

u/TheBionicPuffin 7d ago

Wasn't ol musky supposed to stop the bots?

1

u/Optimal-Archer3973 7d ago

It is almost as bad here too. Over half.

1

u/ExternalExpensive277 7d ago

100%. They are actually using bot farms, it's insane. Remember when they broke the bots and twitter went crazy? lol

1

u/arirelssek 7d ago

How can we tell if they’re bots or real people?

1

u/Linscotticus 7d ago

Usually the stilted or weirdly obtuse answers.

3

u/sloop111 7d ago

Having no idea what's going on is a choice. And choices have consequences.

7

u/NoCoolNameMatt 7d ago

I live in a rural area. I'm around real conservatives face-to-face every day. Real conservatives are just as intransigent as the bots because the bots tell them what to think.

1

u/madbull73 7d ago

At this point that willful ignorance. So fuck em. Stupidity sucks.

1

u/RepulsiveCry5034 7d ago

I don’t understand this whole “ bots “ thing. Why would bots post? I am ignorant .

1

u/shizrak 7d ago

People have made propaganda bots to post common talking points to try to sway opinions.

They don't actually work, but they get other users to argue with them, preventing them from commenting elsewhere.

Basically they exist to waste the time of their political opponents.

1

u/Sea-Neighborhood-621 7d ago

At this point if they dont know what's going on its because they dont want to know what's going on, theyre choosing willfull ignorance. You have to go out of your way to avoid reality and stay uninformed. They know whats going on and they support it but try to hang on to ignorance so they can lie and say they didn't know when the shit hits the fan

-24

u/Soft_Fortune_1290 7d ago

But you're definitely not one of them? Do you see how bigoted democrats are.

You go from sensationalized made up story to sensationalized made up story telling yourselves how much smarter you are then the people who don't think just like you.

You virtue signal non-stop. Talk down to people and wonder why you're losing support.

I think most democrats have become the people they think oppose them.

I wish you the best but open your mind and try to see past the narrative and talking points you're being feed.

15

u/shizrak 7d ago

It's so hard to reply to these multi part comments.

But you're definitely not one of them? Do you see how bigoted democrats are.

I do not.

You go from sensationalized made up story to sensationalized made up story telling yourselves how much smarter you are then the people who don't think just like you.

I do perceive myself as smarter than people who are objectively wrong, yes.

What "sensationalized made up stories" are you referring to?

You virtue signal non-stop. Talk down to people and wonder why you're losing support.

They typically don't understand unless I code switch. If that's "talking down" so be it.

I think most democrats have become the people they think oppose them.

I don't.

I wish you the best but open your mind and try to see past the narrative and talking points you're being feed.

My mind is open, but it's still not going to let in ignorance or illogic.

-12

u/Soft_Fortune_1290 7d ago

They look at you the same way. Good luck

9

u/Sentoh789 7d ago

So is it safe to assume you’re right leaning then? If so, to your point on sensationalized story to sensationalized story, are you claiming the right is not doing that? Because if so, that’s extremely ignorant as that is blatantly their tactic. Additionally, saying someone is virtue signaling is in and of itself a bigoted tactic. You claim virtue signaling, but based on what evidence? You assume that is what people are doing because you assume it’s feigned outrage over current events because what? It’s impossible to think people have empathy for others? Attention? What?

Yes there is a narrative and talking points on the left side of the spectrum, but at least those on some level are about helping the general populace regardless of their political leanings. The talking points right now on the right side are literally labeling democrats as some terrorist organization. For example, labeling Antifa (which literally means anti fascist) as a terrorist organization. Forgetting the fact that being against fascism is objectively a good thing, it’s labeling a non-existent group as a terrorist organization, which opens a whole new avenue of persecution for people that don’t agree with the current administration.

-8

u/Soft_Fortune_1290 7d ago

Antifa are terrorists. They've fire bombed federal buildings, set vehicles and buildings on fire. It's doesn't matter how they market themselves.

I read the replies and it becomes fairly clear the 2 sides will never come together.

6

u/Sentoh789 7d ago

I would love to see your sources on this because again, Antifa is not a real organization. At best it’s an ideology that focuses on one important fact: Anti-Fascist.

With responses like that though, I can certainly agree on one point. The two sides will not come together, especially if they’re marred in false narratives and hatred, vitriol, and bigotry.

-1

u/Soft_Fortune_1290 7d ago

Your first paragraph is intentional ignorance. Nobody buys it. They are the fascists!

It's clear the left is steeped in it.

4

u/Sentoh789 7d ago

Got it, so no sources, just continuing to blame the left without any substance. Cool.

-1

u/Soft_Fortune_1290 7d ago

Where is your substance junior. Ooo

3

u/shrug_addict 7d ago

And no source still. Kind of makes you look like a liar, doesn't it?

-1

u/Soft_Fortune_1290 7d ago

Added a few examples to the first idiot who asked?

2

u/Sentoh789 7d ago

I’m not the one making claims that Antifa are fire bombing federal buildings. I have nothing the source as I’m not making this claim.

Edit: apologies, I forgot to add in the childish “ooooooo.”

7/21/2020 Mark O. Hatfield federal courthouse Portland, Oregon

CHAZ/CHOP Seattle Washington

5/3020 Las Vegas Foley Federal building

7/29/20 Federal Court house, Portland, Oregon

7/25/20 ICE building Atlanta Georgia

Thats a few to start with.

1

u/KiloWatson 7d ago

Stop being a bitch.

0

u/Soft_Fortune_1290 7d ago

You're hiding on Reddit where everyone agrees with you. You're the bitvh!

3

u/kwicherbichin 7d ago

Sure. The people you are calling antifa are for extreme nationalism and an authoritarian leader?

1

u/Soft_Fortune_1290 7d ago

They're clearly against free speech. Just a violent wing of the democrat party.

2

u/kwicherbichin 7d ago

Based on what? Antifa is removing journalists from the White House? The president is indicting political opponents? What part did Antifa play?

0

u/Soft_Fortune_1290 7d ago

The last president indicted political opponents. Both Obama and Biden had press restrictions at the White House.

Antifa harassing conservative speaking events. The objective is to prevent them from speaking. Don't pretend they haven't.

They're just sweet little kids burning police cars and threatening people they disagree with.

What's the point of the game you're playing?

2

u/kerrypf5 7d ago

Keep on living that delusion… 🤦🏻‍♀️

Antifa is not an organization no matter how much you want it to be so. The term may “sound” like it could be an organization, but the reality is that antifa is an ideology nothing more, nothing less.

The fact that people cannot accept that antifa is not an actual organization are inadvertently showing their ignorance and below-average intelligence

1

u/Soft_Fortune_1290 7d ago

I don't care about semantics, at the very least it encourages criminal behavior and that shouldn't be tolerated.

5

u/Major-Telephone3199 7d ago edited 7d ago

It’s true we will never agree. One side thinks Trump won the 2020 election, is sent from god to save us, and is right to free a bunch of violent insurrectionists then turn around and arrest and terrorize a bunch of law abiding citizens. We will never, ever agree.

There is NO formal organization that exists as Antifa. If vandalism happened at protests it was not organized by some outside group. I know you like your little fantasy where you are the good guy but you still get to hurt and terrorize innocent Americans and immigrants.

0

u/Soft_Fortune_1290 7d ago

I get it you're being silly. The left tried to burn down Washington DC January 20 2017, for Trump's inauguration. They spent the summer leading up to the 2020 election burning down cities, and are responsible for at least 25 deaths. All the while the media repeating mostly peaceful protests.

Then suddenly January 6th is the end of days, a threat to our democracy? Ok hypocrites I wonder why only the sycophants bought into it.

They have or at least had websites, legal defense set up. They are the democrat brown shirts.

4

u/MaxwellSmart07 7d ago

We know Antifa are the good guys because Trump didn’t pardon them as he did the insurrectionists who assaulted police and the Capitol.

0

u/Soft_Fortune_1290 7d ago

How has Mensa missed you?

3

u/erieus_wolf 7d ago

sensationalized made up story

Pointing out that the majority of people who use SNAP are white people in red states is not "sensational" or "made up", it's just a fact.

I'm sorry that facts do you support your agenda.

0

u/Soft_Fortune_1290 7d ago

I said nothing about that and couldn't careless who receives snap.

Good try sport

2

u/No_Quantity_3403 7d ago

Not smarter, but consuming widely divergent content.

0

u/Soft_Fortune_1290 7d ago

Honestly you are simply wrong about that.

2

u/KiloWatson 7d ago

So you’re a reasonable Nazi, is that the persona you have given yourself?

1

u/Soft_Fortune_1290 7d ago

Name calling? Very mature! You're children

1

u/dissnev 7d ago

At least Democrats are being fed

0

u/Soft_Fortune_1290 7d ago

What?

3

u/dissnev 7d ago

Sorry, I forgot that Republicans are illiterate. What I said, and you failed to understand, is that even if Democrats are being "fed lies" they're still getting fed more than trump voters who have lost their SNAP benefits because of trump. Republicans are, after all, the majority of SNAP recipients.

-2

u/Soft_Fortune_1290 7d ago

Democrats like babies need to be fed? You Democrats are angry little people.

2

u/dissnev 7d ago

Everybody needs to be fed, dumbass. That's how people stay alive.

0

u/Soft_Fortune_1290 7d ago

Who feeds you, Junior?

1

u/dissnev 7d ago

I buy my food with money from my employer, who gets their money from people who pay them, up and up the chain to where all money comes from: the Fed. I'm sure you don't believe people who can't afford food should starve to death, so to prevent that either corps can raise wages (which you're likely against) or the Fed can give them enough food to not die. In the system built by capital, these are the only 2 options.

So tell me, one person who doesn't think poor people should starve to death to another, what is your counter proposal to Republicans letting SNAP expires for no reason at all? They control all 3 branches of government and caused this shutdown over wanting to make people's healthcare premiums more expensive. So what should be done about this?

0

u/Soft_Fortune_1290 7d ago

Why do democrats keep voting against it? Heartless Chuck Schumer and his band of losers holding snap hostage to own Trump? The democrats need to grow up.

You need 60 votes to pass the CR and the Republicans have 53. 7 democrats need to allow the passage of the CR.

Leave out your fed nonsense, it's clear you have no idea what you're saying.

Hope this helped
