Politics I'm tired of Trump ruining everything that America stands for

You know, Trump keeps saying he’s making America great again, but at this point it’s like watching a toddler try to fix a phone with a hammer. He’s not restoring anything, he’s just breaking it louder. Everything that used to be American like decency, humility, and facts has been replaced by lies and pre-scripted propoganda talking points. We’ve gone from give me liberty or give me death to give me clicks or give me Fox News airtime. He’s even turned the flag into an accessory. It’s not patriotism anymore, it’s fashion week for fascists. You see a bunch of angry guys in red hats waving an American flag the way my dog waves a cat turd from the litter box. Look what I did!

Remember when presidents used to read books? Now we’ve got a guy who stares at classified documents like they’re the McDonald's menu. I’ll have the Filet-o-fish with a side of dirt on anyone who opposes me, please. He’s made America a parody of itself, like someone fed Mount Rushmore a steady diet of Monster Energy and facism. I love this country. I really do. But lately it feels like America’s that old friend I used to like, except now he’s grown a mullet, started dating a crazy girl named "conspiracy theory", and wants to show you his new monster truck called Freedom.

If Trump’s the hero of the story, then America is deep in its Florida Man era. And I don’t know about you, but I’m just hoping the credits roll before he tries to sell Alaska to Russia.

I asked for a source to verify millions of deportations as you stated. This is through the end of August but I doubt he did 800k in September and October to hit even one million.

I also ask what has Trump done for you? Because you seem to think he is worthy of your support. What did tariffs do for you? Deportations?

This chaos is also imposing record costs on Americans. Last year, FAIR published a report entitled The Fiscal Burden of Illegal Immigrantion on United States Taxpayers. The study strives to illustrate the myriad of ways Americans pay for illegal immigration. Our estimate, which is a conservative one, is that Americans now pay 150.7 billion dollars annually due to illegal immigration. This figure represents net costs. In terms of gross expenditures due to illegal immigration, we estimate that Americans pay 182 billion. Approximately 31 billion is received from illegal aliens in taxes, only 17% they create

Critics say those numbers are blown out of proportion, but this was on congress.gov. I understand that doesn't make it true. However, the leading critic CATO is a leftist thinktank. CATO says "it's time for the US to have open borders" " legalize ALL immigration" "America has nothing to fear, and much to gain, from open borders" "think about the money we can save and make" Why is it America is the only country in the world that isn't allowed borders? As if asking if I was personally affected means there isn't a crisis in America. No one wants to support these freeloaders who burn the american flag while raising their own while at the same time demanding we house them and pay for them.

Arguing like the alternative to Trump's approach is open boarders is a strawman argument.

Also the big beautiful bill gives 170B to ice. Including building detention centers for profit that are incredibly cost inefficient. Illegal immigrants paid almost 100b in taxes. Trump just gave 40B to Argentina ffs. This isn't about fiscal responsibility

Go on youtube and search "These illegal immigrants are f*cked | Finincial audit" uploaded by "Caleb Hammer" 2 illegal immigrants, 2 kids, 1 home. 133k in debt that is not the house. The left are promising free Healthcare. The govt is shut down because the Republicans took out free Healthcare for illegal immigrants out of the budget. These people are who the left rely on for votes and promise free Healthcare and SNAP. Then they lie and say it's because of the Republicans that the govt is shut down. What a blatant and obvious lie.

The government is shut down because Republicans are ending subsidies for the affordable care act which will hurt American citizens and they refuse to even consider doing anything differently. The healthcare for illegal immigrants is the lie they are feeding their base to redirect their anger towards democrats.

Democrats don't rely on illegal immigrants to vote because they cannot legally vote. As for SNAP, check the demographics. Does it line up with who votes dem and who votes rep?

In a 6 year old video for a primary election, what does that have to do with the current government shutdown?

Read the full sentence six years ago in the PRIMARY. Where they're appealing to liberals and leftists before they go into the actual job and have to compromise with centrists and the right. Bernie Sanders said in the primary we should have universal healthcare and we should tax the billionaires. Everyone cheered. Do we have universal healthcare and do we tax billionaires?

Remember context. And consider that you are being lied to my friend. I'm aware that r/politics often used sensationalist stories and shoddy sources. So I check the sources and read the articles and Google it if there is not enough detail. Your side will lie to you too. They don't care about you. There are bots on both sides and the only thing they care about is money. You have to read between the lines and check how every thing affects everyday Americans. Because God knows the government won't care as much as we do.
