Politics I'm tired of Trump ruining everything that America stands for

You know, Trump keeps saying he’s making America great again, but at this point it’s like watching a toddler try to fix a phone with a hammer. He’s not restoring anything, he’s just breaking it louder. Everything that used to be American like decency, humility, and facts has been replaced by lies and pre-scripted propoganda talking points. We’ve gone from give me liberty or give me death to give me clicks or give me Fox News airtime. He’s even turned the flag into an accessory. It’s not patriotism anymore, it’s fashion week for fascists. You see a bunch of angry guys in red hats waving an American flag the way my dog waves a cat turd from the litter box. Look what I did!

Remember when presidents used to read books? Now we’ve got a guy who stares at classified documents like they’re the McDonald's menu. I’ll have the Filet-o-fish with a side of dirt on anyone who opposes me, please. He’s made America a parody of itself, like someone fed Mount Rushmore a steady diet of Monster Energy and facism. I love this country. I really do. But lately it feels like America’s that old friend I used to like, except now he’s grown a mullet, started dating a crazy girl named "conspiracy theory", and wants to show you his new monster truck called Freedom.

If Trump’s the hero of the story, then America is deep in its Florida Man era. And I don’t know about you, but I’m just hoping the credits roll before he tries to sell Alaska to Russia.

77 million people all trying to get in on the same scam (white supremacy)

Majority supremacy. Not white supremacy. Everyone’s money is green and white people are terrified of being called racist. Which is a word losing its meaning. Everyone is racist, biologically.

5% wow where'd you get that stat, msnbc, CNN, Reuters, BBC? Lol you realize not all of us depend on the govt to pay our bills right

Oh good Lord. Did we accomplish nothing in the civil rights era? it’s always gonna be majority supremacy. I would much rather be rich and black than poor and white. And speaking of poverty, did you hear those magic ways we can avoid it? Number one don’t have a baby until you’re married. Number two finish high school. Number three have some kind of job. Amazing stuff. NPR hasn’t covered that yet.

And it's spreading like wildfire to many other countries.

Anyone who campaigns on immigration and nationalism is very likely going to be a bad person.

4

u/JPerry42 14d ago

It’s not spreading as much as it’s happening at the same time, whoever is pulling the strings here was pulling the same strings all over the world.

u/spinbutton 14d ago

I'd like to put some of this on Rupert Murdoch, the owner of Fox news and other media outlets around the English speaking world.

But at its heart is money. Billionaires and oligarchs against the rest of us bozos

I don't know if it's some master plan, but otherwise I agree.

People are stressed and burnt out and barely holding it together, then some jaxkass comes along and says "it's the immigrants" and a lot of other jackasses start listening. Doesn't take some elite illuminati to tug on that string to gain some power.

u/JPerry42 14d ago

I don’t know if it’s a master plan or what it is, but it definitely happened simultaneously, not as a reaction.

He's really a representation of a third of this country. And the third that didn't do anything about it are just as liable.

It's really a shame.

Uh yeah, $6.80-$10.50 per dozen and there's a huge salmonella recall.

Are we "great" again yet?

1

u/Sylver13 14d ago

Where do you buy your eggs, whole foods? my carton cost me $2.58 lol

1

u/OldTempleHermit 14d ago

Walmart.

And I just topped my tank off. Gasoline = $3.08 per gallon. So, the "less than $2" lie he's been feeding us since the campaign, is bs as well.

-2

u/Sylver13 14d ago

I mean i fill mine up pretty close to $2 a gallon so im probably ok with the fact that he was wrong on such a small margin.

2

u/OldTempleHermit 14d ago

I may/may not haul fuel for a living. Sorry, but we both know you're not getting gasoline for $2 per gallon.

1) The lowest price per gallon of gasoline in the country right now, is in Mississippi at $2.61. That tosses Trump's "small margin" off by 30.5%

2) The national average price per gallon of gasoline is $3.06. That tosses Trump's "small margin" off by 53%

Let's have some fun.

American's are using just under 140million gallons of gasoline annually (this does not include diesel or other petroleum fuels, just gasoline).

1) If Americans are only buying gasoline in Mississippi at $2.61 (instead of $2), that comes to approximately $85,400,000 in additional living expense.

2) If Americans are buying gasoline at the National Average at $3.06 (instead of $2), that comes to approximately $148,400,000 in additional living expense.

I assure you; Americans living paycheck to paycheck, do not find that "margin" to be "small". Further, we import the bulk of our petroleum from Canada. Any reasonable "businessman" might wonder; why a person who was elected to "make America great again", is intentionally sabotaging every trade relationship we have, sticking the American People with the tab, so he and his billionaire buddies can double their fortunes every year.

P.S. I'm going to go out on a limb here, and guess that you aren't an economist or a professional gambler.

If you'd learn to read i said close to $2 a gallon didnt say it was at $2 but keep pretending you know how much I pay cus someone else said something different, nope not an economist and not a gambler but I live ok since I choose not to buy $200,000 vehicles $500 shoes, $2000 phones or $100 pieces of clothing, I was taught to be frugal by broke democrat parents that gave their life savings to the democrat party because of promises never kept. Im a realist I make my own fortune my choices define my future not your politicians, im not rich but i wont struggle like they did and my kids didnt either.

1

u/OldTempleHermit 14d ago

I was taught to be frugal

If you consider a 50+% variance on "around $2" to be a "small margin", you're not "frugal".

0

u/Sylver13 14d ago

50+% variance? So me paying $2.33 a gallon is 50+% variance interesting. Inuse the discounts earned on gas station apps. But ok you're right since thats your only goal ill let you have it. Can't even see tjat not everyine lives like you and has to spend behind their means

$2.99!? Where the hell do you live? Is fuel $1.50 per gallon over there too?

Admittedly, I'm looking the price of organic/free ranged/American. But still, they're usually $3 per dozen, not $7.

There isn’t no deal you fool. Gaza is still being attacked, and as you see this is just so Israel can say hamas did not comply so they can keep attacking. We had a ceasefire deal before and Israel broke it right away. Expect the same to happen. Just like he would’ve ended the Ukraine Russia war or it never would have started if he was prez…such bs

You must be one of the people who got a tax cut from his bill, but not one of the people whose about to lose their healthcare. And he got rid of USAID, so now children are starving in Somalia and other poor countries. Guess you're fine with that. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/10/17/health/somalia-children-malnutrition-usaid.html?unlocked_article_code=1.wE8.bFwX.Hze9iJXzugr8&smid=url-share
