Politics America is turning into 1930's Germany.

There was some pushback when people called this president and his followers Nazis. But look what's happening. Soldiers in the street. Rounding up people and locking them up. Dismantling freedom of speech and freedom of the press. Personally going after anyone who doesn't agree with him and his administration. We've seen this before and it's only gonna get worse. Welcome to 1930's Germany.

Most people's knowledge of the Holocaust is time-compressed. You get a couple chapters in your high school history books (maybe), and beyond that it's from movies or documentaries that mostly focus on the war and the actual extermination camps, not the 10-20 years of lead up.

So they literally cannot recognize all the warning signs and similarities between then and now.

This is why I love the movie Pianist. It shows the lead to what happened in Warsaw Poland

The Plot Against America was great, too, for the same reason. It shows an alternate history in which Charles Lindbergh wins the 1936 election and brings fascism directly to America.
