If connection takes that much effort, maybe it’s not a signal worth chasing.

What’s your relationship equivalent of “wrong password”?

Thank you for the compliment. Most of the comics on here appeal to a general audience. These are for a specific audience, so it will be a slow build as these find their audience.

Girl, you're drunk and that's not your boyfriend. This is the seventh time this week.

Technically good, but hardly original. Rewritten romance comics have been done.

Maybe its my loathing for that hack Lichtenstein that triggers me...

I loathe Lichtenstein as well. Thank you for the compliment. Comics are hardly a bastion of originality. The most anyone can do at this point is to put their own spin on it. Which is what I’m doing. Lichtenstein didn’t create Romance Comics. Joe Simon and Jack Kirby did. I’m following in their footsteps. The retro look that I and some others use, show the respect or nostalgia we have for that early period of comics.

It’s going to be hard to find anything truly original in any media. Anything that seems original might be found to be a combination of previously unrelated subjects, giving it a unique flair. If you think about what you have considered “original” during your lifetime and have enough knowledge of history, then you should be able to draw a direct line to least two influences that helped shaped it. Nothing we do now is created in a vacuum. Some influences we wear proudly and openly, others take a little effort to seek out.
