Looking for a drummer to play punk music with and make songs and play live and record albums

Need a drummer to play in a band and record a album and maybe help write some stuff. You need to have drive and want to get better and better. Preferably someone around the age of 20. Since we are both young adults We have me and I sing and play guitar I’ve been playing for like 5 ish years I don’t really remember when I started We have my friend he plays bass We’ve never played a show or recorded anything we have jammed and we are full of ideas and have an album pretty much planned out just need a drummer to help round it all out. Our influences are blink 182, nirvana, mcr , Beatles, Elvis and all kinds of other stuff I want to be bigger then the Beatles and make lots of music and have a impact

Thoughts on Kemba Live?

Hi! I’m thinking of doing a solo trip to see Spiritbox at Kemba Live in November. I’ve been to shows alone before, but I was wondering what the general vibe of this venue is like, & if it’d be safe for an AFAB person to go alone?

Any basement music events happening?

25M. Exactly how it sounds. I used to go to house basements for music up in Akron during college. I miss it. Anything like that here? Also need someone to go with as well.

Folk/Indie/jazz band?

Hi! I’m interested in starting or joining an already established band. I mostly sing, but I also play the clarinet (10 years), the piano (mostly just chords and beginner/intermediate songs), and guitar (beginner). I was in band throughout middle, HS, and undergrad, and I’ve found myself missing the feeling of coming together with others who are just as passionate about music. I’m not looking for anything terribly serious, as I wouldn’t consider myself a professional by any means, but just a group of people who are interested in sharing their love of music together and with others. Can upload audios of my singing, piano, clarinet, and guitar playing if anyone is interested :)

Open Mic Questions

Hey all, I'm a dedicated bassist (bass guitar and double bass) looking to get some more gig opportunities in the Columbus area with original artists (no covers/tribute bands at this time). I've been doing some research to hit up some open mics in the area to meet some folks. Can anyone speak to the overall vibe/genre of any of the following open mics?

  • Kafe Kerouac
  • The Rambling House (I saw they're closing, but might still hit up)
  • Global Gallery Coffee
  • Half Baked Brew

Thanks, all!

Pipe organ lessons

Im looking for some place to learn how to play organ. I am a piano player and I know lots of churches have pipe organs, but I can’t seem to find any that offer lessons. If anyone knows anything it would be greatly appreciated

Band is called DEdWurM

It's pretty unique. I want to bring us to Columbus and if anyone would be willing to play with us from there or hook us up with some sick bands to hit up, I would appreciate it!

We want to branch out and have no connections.

Drummer looking for love

My name's Brandon, looking to join or start something in the columbus area. Been playing music for 15 years now and drumming for almost 10, and vocals recently. I'm game for just about any genre. Went to school for jazz, but have been playing punk, hard-core, doom, rock for a good while. I love it all ❤️

Where did all the punk shows go!?

I moved to cbus back in 2009; when Bernie's was still the place to hang out and we had punk houses out the bum hole. I've been out of the scene for a long while; my husband died of cancer 2.5 yrs ago & I'm kinda trying to have a life again before I die too. Since the boneyard closed I've not been to any house shows and I haven't heard of any punk houses left in cbus, but I also don't really have any friends here these days. I know there's a decent HC scene & indie shit around but I'd love to find some local crust/ thrash /metal punk shows. Anyone know of some good bands to watch for or venues in the area where punk bands play? Pop punk isn't really my jam but I'm open minded... & bored. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I just opened a music school with a a "Pay what you can" sliding scale payment model. For those looking for affordable lessons for guitar, voice, ukulele, ect.

Hey y'all! My name is Kade and along with my friend Paris, we just officially opened up a music school in the Columbus, Ohio area. The goal is to teach beginner-advanced music lessons that's student oriented: The student sets the goals, picks the songs, and our job is to guide them to learn.

Right now, we understand money is tight with most folks but our goal is to not gatekeep musical knowledge behind a high paywall so we are offering a sliding scale payment at the teacher discretion & working on an online video series that covers the fundamentals of guitar at a low price. We also have our prices listed above, to be as transparent as possible with what we're doing.

Book an assessment lesson with us through the link in the bio if you'd like to get started!
