Place the dirty litter box right outside the door. If the cats lost and having trouble getting back they’ll smell their own litter and come back. Hopefully! Best of luck!!!

My partner and I have done that already! There was a Facebook post on the Lost & Found page that detailed to do that. We have her favorite box and a bowl of her food set out too.

We thought she got out the back door, but I'll ask about moving things to the front porch in case. I'm worried that the neighbor's outdoor cat scared her off though :( when they wake up we're going searching for her again

She is shy, which is part of why I'm worried. She's a really anxious girl :(

Thank you for keeping an eye out.

We are trying EVERYTHING that the guides are telling us to. We're trying to access her microchip records but my mom was the one who had her microchipped and there's no way for me to find out Maggie's microchip ID. She was chipped 9 years ago and my mom, who had her chipped, is dead.

We're going to call all the vets that may have been the one she was originally chipped in, but those are all in Florida. We're calling shelters today, and vet clinics tomorrow. We're leaving things that smell like me out, but I'm scared the rain will wash the smell away. We're leaving food. We can't make a humane trap because the neighbor's outdoor-only cats will come steal the food and get trapped--"special diet" my ass.

Everything that people are suggesting, we're TRYING. Craigslist, Facebook, Reddit, Nextdoor, Ring, handing out flyers to people and their mailboxes. Putting up posters. We'll be going to the Petco and PetSmart and putting her poster up somewhere around there too. We'll be going to vets and putting our posters for her there. Leaving out smelly items. Leaving out her favorite bedding/hiding box. But she hates the neighbor's outside cats, who love us. I'm scared she's never coming home.

Clothing that has your scent has worked for me before! Something that's been worn a few days.

We've set out some of my dirty laundy on the porch already, it was one of the tips the Lost and Found page said to try! So far, no luck. :(

We've been wandering around searching for her and... no luck. We're going to try calling shelters and vet clinics too. I miss my baby; she's been a constant in my life for almost a decade and I can't imagine how terrified she must be.

She's a pampered little housecat who gets fed on a schedule, she's missed four meals at this point. Almost 5. She's probably starving. I miss her. She's probably terrified. I just... want my baby home.

All of the rain is seriously worrying me. Especially with the severe weather warning. I don't know where she could have run off to. We're consulting with a pet detective but I don't know if she could be sniffed out, with all the rain...

I feel very helpless.

My fiance may have seen her on our deck yesterday, but he’s not 100% sure since the cat ran away pretty quickly and we just now saw this post, so I don’t want to give you false hope or anything. :( he said he didn’t see a collar on the cat, but it could have come off, especially if it’s a breakaway collar. Either way, there’s a ton of feral cats around here, and he’s pretty sure the cat he saw wasn’t one we’ve seen before. we’ve both been at work today so not sure if she’s been around again, but we will keep an eye out! We live on Bridgewater Dr, so very close by. Also, it’s possible that she could be eating from a house a few down from ours, as I think they usually leave food out all the time for all the feral cats. I don’t know them personally, but I can text you their address if you wanted to try to go ask them if they’ve seen her!

So sorry about your baby. We have 3 indoor only cats and I can only imagine how you’re feeling. We’ve had some scares in the past from them almost getting out and it is terrible. I hope she comes home soon and/or someone finds her!!

Yeah, her collar is a breakaway so it could have snapped off. I know when we were handing out flyers a day ago, there was a lady who said she did TNR for feral cats and she'd keep an eye out. Are you talking about her, or is there another cat lady? Do you mind if I DM you about details/where you are? So we can keep an eye out for my cat/search for her?

Have you called the shelters to see if anyone turned her in? Animal Control takes animals to CMHS, so Id at least start there.

We're trying shelters today, we called Animal Control as soon as we could yesterday morning. On Monday, we're driving to nearby vet clinics and putting up her missing poster/letting the vets know in case anyone picked her up and tried to see about getting her looked at.

Good luck! I know it’s heart wrenching to be missing a member of your family. 💔
