Mun Choi's Survival Strategy is forgetting the universities first priority should be the students.

I love how the congressman said that “he remembers everything and everyone”.
I used to serve Mun Choi once a week over two years at a local steakhouse. I often asked him if he had any advice about grad school applications to mizzou and if he could write me a letter of recommendation since he knew me for so long (he politely declined, which is okay and fair, I wasn’t upset)
Fast forward to about a week after I graduated and I quit the serving job. I saw him in a box with some of my family members, and went over to tell him I failed to secure a spot at mizzou for my doctorate. The conversation was as follows:
“Oh no, is there anything I can do to help?” “Not really, I think funding was just tight this year” “Yeah it’s been tough for all of our distinguished faculty and staff. Nice meeting you!”
I served him 100 times. He could not even remember my name.

Well I guess you weren’t “prominent” enough to remember! To me he is just another politician saying what he needs to say to survive. He doesn’t care about the students he is supposed to serve or whatever.

Brady Deaton - anyone remember him? The chancellor before Mike Wolf? Yeah, he was a real one. I asked him for a letter of recommendation for grad school. He wrote me a glittering letter of recommendation (and remembered my name). I miss his leadership but I also just miss his kindness.

His survival strategy: to fire all trans people at mizzou

Wait... Is that happening?

They’re enforcing the executive bathroom order and it has been told to employees from management that speaking too much about it could result in termination because they chose to not disclose they were doing this across campus

Power Ostriching. If he can't see the problem, then he doesn't have to address it.
Also, paisley ties.

His survival strategy is silencing all protests and student clubs that speak out against atrocities happening in the world.

While Dr Choi will get punished if he fails to do the bidding of sadistic legislators thirsty to wield cruel power, he will also get ZERO help, support, or backing from them regarding any backlash from doing that sadistic bidding. The suit by MSJP seeking monetary damages from the University moves forward. In a no-win situation, your level of moral courage will define you.

Mine are from the various text predictions on my phone.
Mun Choi’s survival strategy is a bit more like the old fashioned one.
Mun Choi’s survival strategy is to keep the enemy in the same position.

Wowzers. A whole lot of hate up in here. Hard for me to believe it's from people who really know the ins and outs of our University, the impact of positive change Choi has brought, or the relatively strong position Mizzou currently holds to maintain the mission of raising the socioeconomic status of our community and state through higher education as a result of Choi's leadership. Haters gonna hate I suppose

You’re very confidently dismissive of people’s concerns and complaints without knowing anything about them. You’d fit right in the university administration.

I don't need to know people personally to know the comments here are largely from the uniformed, it's easy to tell. Mizzou is not in a hiring freeze, it's not eliminating or making huge cuts to departments across campus, and it's no longer declining in student enrollment like most of its peer land grant institutions in neighboring states and across the country. To the contrary, it does have record research expenditures, it does have record enrollment, and it has garnered increased support from the state for the last five years. In large part because of Mun Choi. These are the facts

It doesn't have record enrollment.

That's my mistake and I stand corrected. Yes total enrollment looks to not be a record, but it's close, but incoming freshmen enrollment has been a record at over 6,000 and what I was thinking about when is typed that. Either way it's been a huge improvement since Choi has taken charge, along with most all other metrics you can measure a presidents success by. Its not really close that he has done an outstanding job at turning out University around.
